Back in late 2020, America was preparing for a potential civil unrest as the Presidential Elections came to a head, specifically big cities like New York and Washington DC. With this civil unrest came the small percentage of the population that use this as an opportunity to loot stores. So, with many high-end store on 5th avenue, many opted to board up their store, windows and possible access points to prevent such a thing. However, one store understood that board could easily be ripped down and used as barricades against the police once entered the site. They alternatively opted to use our FenceSafe Securus SR1 System to protect themselves against civil unrest and allow for business continuity.

The Britannia Leisure Centre, located in Hackney, North London, is a community-focused project spearheaded by Morgan Sindall.This visionary initiative presented an array of complex construction challenges, including the creation of two full-sized five-a-side football pitches and two full-sized tennis courts on the roof, requiring fencing and netting reaching a height of eight metres.The completion of the Britannia Rooftop MUGA project marks a significant milestone for CLD Systems and Perimeter Solutions. The project highlights their ability to overcome complex design and installation challenges, pushing the boundaries of physical security solutions.The Britannia Leisure Centre has received significant recognition and multiple award nominations, including the 2022 RICS Community Benefit award and Architect’s Journal: Community Impact of the Year Award.

Challenging brief The CLD team worked closely from the initial design stage to ensure they met budgets and a challenging brief: to create a fencing design that was attractive and fun whilst providing optimal safety for the school and its 200 pupils. CLD supplied the Dulok Wavetop system for discreet but robust security, the Dulok Rebound system for high performance sports fencing and locking gates with a Slidemaster main gate. A unique multi-coloured ‘pencil’ fence was also added marking out the play area with large pencil-shaped posts with wooden tops that can be re-painted by the children in any colour.

Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo was established in 1988 in Wales when the old dairy farm grounds were converted into an adventure park and zoo. So when they were preparing for the arrival of a pride of African Lions, one of the top priorities was to design and manufacture their enclosure fencing. The main requirements for this project were to protect the welfare of the lions whilst holding security features for visitors and staff when observing. The lion enclosure consisted of CLD Fencing Systems Dulok Double Wire Fencing using a dark green RAL colour for coating. The whole enclosure featured 2 paddocks, 4 dens and 5 yards to offer the very best comfort for the African Lions.

When a new mental health unit planned to provide a safe and secure environment for their patients and staff, CLD Fencing Systems and a Littlewood Fencing were asked to design, manufacture and supply the perfect solution for this project.Hafan Y Coed (Haven of Trees) Mental Health Unit at the University Hospital Llandough opened the doors of their £ 88 million facility back in 2016 offering patients a modern, therapeutic and recovery-focused unit.Powell Dobson and Laing O’Rouke designed and constructed the detailed mental health unit, and in order to match the level of safety of the building, their hospital security fencing needed to encourage privacy and security throughout.The BriefSecurity of patients and staff was paramount when understanding the brief for the new perimeter fence line and security access control. The following requirements were set out to maintain their security needs:Create a safe and secure environment for staff and patients by implementing high security perimeter fencing.Feature anti-climb, anti-cut and anti-ligature properties for both fencing and gate solutions.Provide privacy screens for specific areas of the unit to promote recovery.Manufacture 18 gate solutions for easy access for staff through the entire site.

When work started on the Southern section of the HS2 line, they realised the site periemeters came very close to the curbline of the public footpath and in fact needed to step out into the road. SCS Rail needed a construction hoarding system that would protect the site and passers-by whilst also restricting visibility to the public. They also wanted to reuse and realign the hoarding system in question for a more sustainable and cost-effective solution over the traditional timber hoarding. After searching for an alternative to timber hoarding on our website, the FenceSafe Hoard was selected for the project.

The White Rose Office Park in Leeds; is a purpose-built 27-acre business park owned and operated by Munroe K. In 2014, they unveiled a £12m office for the global banking giant HSBC.Utilising in-depth knowledge, that Munroe K had about their client and the local area; the project had a number of specific requirements that needed to be addressed from the start.The BriefSecurity and Aesthetics were the two key areas taken from the client’s requirements for their car park security fencing. These included the following:A fencing system that would provide open ventilation for the car park.Additional high security fencing to the rear of the car park due to the construction of plant and control equipment compounds.Anti-climb and anti-cut properties to all fencing systems.Aesthetically pleasing without compromising on the inbuilt security.After working through the wide range of car park security fencing systems in the CLD range, the client selected Safeogril Open Mesh Fencing for the front of the car park and Securus 358 Anti-Climb Mesh Fencing System to secure the rear. They required the front of the car park to look visually pleasing and; at the same time, fit within HSBC’s brand to complement the new offices. Alongside the aesthetics, the architects wanted the car park security fencing systems to still encompass a wide range of security features in order to keep the car park secure.The installation was completed by Davison Fencing, a member of CLD Systems Approved Contractors, working with ourselves and the architects for the duration of the installation process.

Since the COVID-19 outbreak, CLD Fencing Systems has helped to protect a number of testing centres and temporary hospitals. So earlier in 2020 we were contacted to help protect a testing centre that was being constructed in Inverness. This site offered key workers the ability to use the drive thru centre as part of the UK wide Government Scheme. The client needed a full perimeter fence line which was completely temporary and could be moved and dismantled as fast as it was installed. They also needed the system to offer visitors privacy whilst they attend the site. The original FenceSafe Temporary Fencing System was selected for this project, offering a rigid security demarcation with additional privacy screens.

In 2023, CLD Systems embarked on a remarkable project that showcased its expertise.Tasked with transforming the home of West Ham United FC at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park’s London Stadium, a prominent stadium hosting Major League Baseball London Series fixtures, CLD Systems demonstrated its commitment to excellence and delivered a significant enhancement to the stadium’s infrastructure.This project commenced with CLD Systems being appointed by a pitch installer, the key entity responsible for the stadium’s transformation. CLD Systems’ primary role was to provide a robust fencing system that would enclose the perimeter of the baseball field. This system not only served as an integral structure to form the field build but also had to withstand the impact of professional athletes running at full speed and occasionally climbing the fencing to catch a ball. Additionally, the fencing system provided support for the installation of padding, ensuring player safety, and acted as a platform for advertising and marketing purposes.The efficiency and professionalism of all teams involved were evident throughout the project. Completed within a remarkable 18-day timeline, the stadium was decommissioned and made ready for the next event in under five days. The impact of the project was reflected in the remarkable attendance figures, with over 110,000 spectators witnessing the grandeur of the revitalised stadium. The highest attendance record was set on Saturday, with 54,622 spectators, which was surpassed the following day when Sunday’s attendance peaked at an impressive 55,565."We are proud to have been part of the MLB World Series at the London Stadium project, contributing our expertise in security fencing to enhance the safety and integrity of the venue. Back in 2019, the William's Group opened the doors to their brand-new flagship automotive retail store based in Trafford City. The store was set to home luxury brands such as MINI, BMW, Land Rover and Jaguar all within one compound. This meant they needed an effective perimeter security system that would hold up against intruders onto the site and also added protection around the showrooms that would house these luxury cars.
