Sustainability overview
C-TEC’s Environmental Management System has attained ISO 14001-accreditation in official recognition of our ongoing mission to minimise the environmental impact of our products, activities and services.
C-TEC recognises its environmental responsibility and our policy statement demonstrates our commitment to minimising the environmental impact of our activities. We are committed to:
- Complying with the relevant environmental legislation, regulations and requirements to which we subscribe.
- The protection of the environment including prevention of pollution and other specific commitment(s) relevant to the context of the organisation (sustainable resource use).
- Providing a framework for setting environmental objectives.
- Ensuring all our activities are covered by this policy and that it is implemented, maintained and communicated to all employees
- Complying with ISO 14001 and to the continual improvement of the system to enhance environmental performance.
- Ensuring operations are carried out in accordance with our compliance obligations, evaluating fulfilment and correcting any non-conformities.
C-TEC’s environmental policy is reviewed at least annually to ensure continual suitability. Changes in our organisation, arrangements, scope of operations and working practices are considered at this review.
We are proud that we have minimised our impact on the environment by:
- Reducing water usage by utilising smart water management systems
- Monitoring and reducing electrical energy usage using WiBeee monitoring systems
- Utilising renewable energy sources (Solar) to generate 30% of our annual consumption and plan to increase 2-fold our renewable energy source in the coming year
- Using sustainable packaging and biodegradable materials wherever possible
- Reducing carbon emissions by changing to LED lighting
- Utilising sustainable packaging and biodegradable materials
- Removing bleached cardboard from manufacturing and packaging processes
- Removing solvent and colophony creating fluxes from manufacturing processes
- Utilising sustainable suppliers and service providers
- Insulating our offices to make them heat efficient
- Transitioning away from paper installation guides
- Recycling all packaging, paper, metal, plastic and glass waste
- Investing in low energy consumption equipment
- Using reusable transportation containers and eliminated waste cardboard from the delivery process in conjunction with several suppliers
- Promoting cycling to work
