In this CPD, we’ll look at the drivers behind water consumption and some practical design approaches to managing it effectively. We’ll then move into the main section, exploring the key regulations and certifications that shape water strategy, with a particular focus on BREEAM. We'll look at how it works, what the water credits involve and the steps that help you achieve them. We’ll also touch on how WELL and LEED approach water.By the end of the session you should have a greater understanding of:The water efficiency requirements within BREEAM, including how different fittings are assessed and calculated.How to specify water-efficient products with confidence.Where your specification decisions have the greatest impact on overall water consumption and BREEAM performance.

The aim of this CPD is to address the sanitary accommodation requirements laid out in Approved Document M Volume 2, which provides guidance on meeting the needs of Part M of the UK Building Regulations, with regards to accessibility in buildings other than dwellings. It covers the type of buildings affected, locations in the building, layouts, specific product specification requirements and surrounding finishes.
