Description

Langley Biodiverse Living Roof systems are designed to provide all the benefits of a drought tolerant, biodiverse living roof that can be adapted to suit local and regional nature conservation and planning requirements.

Substrates are GRO compliant and tested to BS 8616:2019.

Our 20mm cuspated drainage / reservoir layer is constructed from HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) and includes a laminated upper filtration & bottom *protection fleece (* required on warm & cold roofs only) to simplify installations and ensure consistency across the living roof.

Fire Performance – the Langley biodiverse systems can achieve BRoof(t4) compliance when tested as part of a full Langley roof buildup.

Features and benefits:

  • The biodiverse system can be tailored to accommodate localised planting and can contribute towards roof-based Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) or Local Biodiversity Action Plan (LBAP) requirements.
  • Mounded substrate (80-150mm mounded biodiverse substrate), varied planting options and habitat incidentals, (logs, piles aggregates, pebbles and nesting habitats), encourage birds and insects to use the planted roof space.
  • The extensive biodiverse system is fully GRO compliant.
  • Designed for both new build and refurbishment projects
  • System is suitable for roofs of ≤10° pitch.
  • System can provide SuDs capabilities.
  • The drainage layer is capable of retaining 5.5 litres per sqm.
  • RHS Plants for Pollinators. 81% of the wildflower species included within this mix are recognised by the Royal Horticultural Society as supporting UK pollinating insects.
  • Seed mix comprises of 34 wildflower & grass species.
  • The wildflower seed in this mixture is of UK native origin.
  • The seed collected for this mix was done so using Flora Locale code of practice ensuring that the wildflower seed is of UK origin and is harvested and grown responsibly to aid conservation and help protect native UK wild plants.
  • Wildflower plugs can also be included within the specification to increase planting cover, variety and to encourage biodiversity

This is covered by our Independent Insurance Backed Guarantees of up to 30 years aligned to the associated Langley Waterproofing System.
