OVERVIEW
OVERVIEW
On the roof of this project, there are two heat pumps and an air handling unit. On the floor below, the 19th floor, there are private and shared rooftop terraces. Therefore, the mentioned equipment had to be enclosed with a sound screen so that residents would not be bothered by installation noise on the roof. Naturally, all heat and air handling units need to be accessible, but at a height of 65m, wind load is a particularly important factor.
By using our Acoustic+ system in combination with the No-Gaps finish from our StandardScreen range, residents do not experience any nuisance, even at night, while the heat pumps are operating.
Key features
- Boltscreen for a tidy screening solution for existing roof works.

- Acoustic + panels provide noise reduction of up to 33dB + NRC 1.0.
- Conforms to BS EN 516 2006 and BS EN 1090-3 2008

Installation
The installation was impressively quick and straightforward, thanks to the pre-engineered modular design. The entire enclosure is supplied to site in pre-fabricated, crane-liftable packs, ready to be installed by hand in quick succession. This minimizes on-site cutting and waste, enabling faster installation, reduced health and safety risks, and improved sustainability.
Design
This enclosure features our Acoustic+ system which is a combination of our products, Peacemaker and Soundshield. Peacemaker absorbs sound, while Soundshield reflects sound.
The No-Gaps Speedscreen finish also conceals the heat pumps from view.
Testing of these products in an acoustics laboratory according to ISO 10140-2 certifies us with a sound reduction index of Rw 31dB according to ISO 717-1:2020.
