Walton Windmill, Street

OVERVIEW

This historical landmark is situated on the top of Walton Hill overlooking the village of Street. The Grade II Listed windmill, which is owned by the Clarks family, the British international shoe manufacturer, had previously been painted using KEIM Soldalit in 2010. The existing paint had performed well, but due to exposed location was in need of a thorough clean.

The owners planned to redecorate the exterior in 2024 with Terry Rendell Quality Painting & Decorating overseeing the scheme once again. Julian Cullum of KEIM Mineral Paints met with Terry Rendell at the property and advised that the surfaces should be cleaned using a specialist contractor.

Once cleaned, all previously painted brickwork was redecorated using KEIM Soldalit-ME, an exterior sol-silicate photocatalytic based paint for use on mineral and previously painted substrates.

This is a great example of the longevity of KEIM Mineral Paints. We recommend periodically washing painted surfaces with clean, cold water and mild detergent to prevent a build up of dust or dirt.
