Designed by architects Buckley Gray Yeoman of Shoreditch, the detailed refurbishment of 27 Goswell Road has resulted in an attractive remodelled 1980’s office building with a retro pop aesthetic, situated in a strategic location in Clerkenwell, close by the Barbican, Old Street and the City.

The space – now named as Panagram – has been completely remodelled to feature efficient open floors with an abundance of natural daylight, brand new M&E and modern lighting, together with exposed air conditioning and air handling system. The offices benefit from generous floor to ceiling height.

The Requirement

Waverley were contacted by Buckley Gray Yeoman in January 2020 to help with the specification of curtains and suspended track systems for a show floor of offices featuring state-of-the-art internal finishes on the 2^nd Floor. There would be potential for the other floors to be fitted out in the future.

The Challenges & The Solution

The suspended curtains needed to work with the exposed services and help divide the proposed space in a way that they could be moved around or tidied and stacked away, depending on requirements. Weight of fabric was also key, due to using suspended track systems, and ideally to be in the Wave style.

Our Specification Manager and Project Manager worked with the architects on the specification. We finally put forward Silent Gliss 6100 track suspended by V-hanger rods which provide bracing and lateral support, together with curtains in Kvadrat Frost fabric which is sheer. The rail system also supported a Wave heading type, which provides a clean contemporary style of curtain. We provided a made-up sample curtain and track for the architects, to assist the client’s decision.
