Hale End Court sustainable independent living

OVERVIEW

The Award-Winning Hale End Court Extra Care development is a unique housing scheme designed to meet the needs of frail or vulnerable people living in Woking. Woking Borough Council in collaboration with Willmott Dixon and HNW Architects set out to carefully design and deliver a supportive and sustainable independent living scheme.

Woking Borough Council’s vision for Hale Court was to develop a high-quality, modern, sustainable, and purpose-built Living Facility emphasising independence, whilst providing aspects of extra care distinguishing the facility from typical residential care.

Woking Borough Council were keen to support a contemporary aesthetic whilst remaining sympathetic to the historic Old Woking High Street and adjacent listed buildings. They were also keen to meet environmental targets and deliver a sustainable scheme.
