The primary objectives were to facilitate the safe maintenance of the roof surface, gutters, and the extensive Solar PV installation on the South Stand while ensuring long-term protection of the standing seam roof.
To meet these requirements, Eurosafe provided a tailored solution using the Ascent range of walkways, step units, and handrails, combined with MSA Latchways fall protection systems:
- Ascent Aluminium Walkways: Installed to provide levelled, slip-resistant access across the standing seam roof, these walkways are fully tested and approved for use on this roof type. They also help protect the roof surface from potential damage caused by regular foot traffic associated with Solar PV maintenance.
- Ascent Aluminium Step Units: Deployed in areas where level changes occur, these units ensure safe transitions between different roof sections, maintaining full accessibility for maintenance personnel.
- Ascent Handrails: Where fall hazards were present, walkways were fitted with robust handrails to further enhance user safety.
- MSA Latchways Constant Force Fall Protection System: In areas with less frequent maintenance access, Bemo-approved Latchways fall protection systems were installed, offering secure attachment points for operatives working at height.
