OVERVIEW
Dorplan were proud to be part of this project to turn an historic ruin into an iconic new hotel. The former prison dates back nearly 250 years to when it was built by prisoners of the Napoleonic wars.
We supplied around 400 doorsets with performance as striking as the lemon yellow paint.
Working closely with the contractor and the architect, we produced a range of doorsets that included concealed safety features, fire ratings and acoustic performance, along with design features such as inlaid beading and grooving to create a panelled look.
In some cases original doors were taken and given a new lease of life by our skilled craftsmen.
The results speak for themselves in this sympathetically-restored building.
