ASF Blackburn Post and Panel

ASF had been manufacturing a whole range of products for Blackburn Centre via Capita Blackburn, using a whole range of material - granite for seating and architectural elements, timber, granite and stainless steel seating, stainless steel and granite bollards etc etc. ASF were then approached to work on a bespoke post and panel design for a rising and curving site along a roadside, designed to form a definite but aesthetically pleasing barrier.

Working on drawings initially supplied by the client, ASF's pattern makers made the tooling for the posts and successfully produced test castings of them. The posts are manufactured in 100% recycled cast iron and in isolation automatically meet 3kN loading.

The panel designs were a product of multi agency teamwork to come up with a design that complimented the posts but were also pleasing in isolation.
