Palmer Park Reading

In 2016, Reading Borough Council and the British Cycling invested over £350,000, in a joint funded scheme, into the Palmer Park Sports Stadium.

This investment was set to fund the renovations to the Velodrome track fencing, lighting and other improvements to the cycle track in order to improve visitor experiences.

After the restoration, Palmer Park’s velodrome track was officially reopened to the public on March 11^th 2017 by the Mayor of Reading, Mohammed Ayub and representatives from the British Cycling.

The Brief

The brief for this project was set out by the specific requirements both clients wanted for the Safety Velodrome Fencing.

• Increase the safety and security of the perimeter fencing around the track.
• Must be specified by the British Cycling adhering to appropriate standards.
