OVERVIEW

Looking to future-proof their home and improve energy efficiency, the homeowners upgraded their windows with vacuum glazing.

They previously had A-rated double glazing on the weather-exposed side and standard double glazing at the rear.

The results have been impressive.

Over a five month period from November to February, they recorded a 19% reduction in gas consumption, measured in kilowatt hours, indicating genuine energy savings.

Crucially, the home’s internal temperature has remained consistently high without increased energy use.

Noise reduction has also been significant.

Located on a road with regular traffic, the front room, where the couple spend their evenings, is noticeably quieter. Just as wind noise from the estuary-facing rear have also been reduced
