King's College Hospital Critical Care Unit

Our southern contracting team worked closely with McLaughlin & Harvey to provide a glazed partition package for the state-of-the art critical care unit at King’s College Hospital — one of London’s busiest and largest teaching hospitals.

With valuable design input from Dr Tom Best MBE, Clinical Director for Critical Care at King’s, it was important that any solutions were durable, offered privacy to patients and allowed natural light to flow through the space. The key was to create an environment that aided patient recovery while also aiding visitors and staff alike.

PURE20 single glazed partitions were used for glazed fronts with double sliding EclipseTec doors providing access to patient treatment rooms.

Double glazed PURE100 partitions with integrated bottom-up blinds were utilised between individual patient rooms, offering full visual privacy to complement acoustic performance up to Rw 54 dB.

Finally, FireStop Ei60 and Ei30 fire rated glazed double doors offered exit route protection through the main corridor and lobby.
