OVERVIEW
Commissioned by Monaghan County Council, the Monaghan Peace Campus is a €17.6 million project. Situated on the former local authority machinery yard site at The Plantation in Monaghan Town, the campus incorporates community space, a youth facility, a new town library, and a cultural heritage area.
The building’s layout, designed by Hall Black Douglas Architects, has been created to provide an ultra-modern space. To complement the building’s design, AG’s Plaza Paving in Salt and Pepper was chosen to create a contemporary finish that harmonises with the building’s aesthetic. Plaza’s face mix is meticulously blended to produce eight richly pigmented shades, designed to emulate the appeal of granite while having a significantly lower carbon footprint. Manufactured in the UK using 100% locally sourced aggregates, the quality of the Plaza paving range is evident through its performance metrics.
In line with Monaghan County Council’s commitment to energy efficiency, the project’s entire life energy expenditure has been carefully considered throughout the design and build process. Plaza Paving is now the lowest carbon premium paving range on the market, supported by verified EPD information. This aligns perfectly with the supplier’s sustainability credentials, making Plaza the ideal choice for reducing any project’s environmental impact.
