Hertalan EPDM Green Roofing Systems

Hertalan EPDM Green Roofing Systems

Carlisle Construction Materials Limited

A green roof is a roof that is covered with vegetation and growth, which creates a wide range of options. Selecting a vegetation type combines the practical with the enjoyable. Green systems improve the heat and noise insulation of a building structure, have an air purifying effect, catch rainwater and discharge it at a delayed rate, enhance the area’s biodiversity and have aesthetic added value. Green roofs can have a primary and secondary function. In the first case a green roof is often used as a ‘living roof’, possibly in combination with parking options.

New Build Flat Roof Solutions - Bauder brochure

Bauder Ltd

For new build projects, our range of waterproofing systems can be used with some systems lending themselves to a particular project depending on the design, cost, planning requirements, sustainability focus, and life expectancy. Projects can often be required by planning to include an element of green roof with vegetation or recreational space, blue roof capacity for SuDS, or photovoltaics for energy generation. Our design team will support you through all the considerations required for the inclusion of these upgrades whilst also creating a scheme that safeguards the underlying Bauder waterproofing.

Calor Gas Ltd

BioLPG, exclusively available from Calor, is a renewable fuel created from wastes, residues and renewable vegetable oils. LPG is already a low-carbon fuel compared to other fossil fuels, but BioLPG will reduce carbon emissions even further, allowing energy-conscious consumers to reduce their carbon footprint. It's a drop-in fuel which means that if you are already using LPG there is no need to change your system or appliances to switch to this greener alternative.

Green Roof Systems Overview

Green Roof Systems Overview

SIG Design & Technology

The vegetating of a roof surface is described under a number of generic terms: brown roof, biodiverse roof, living roof etc. Each has evolved from the original terminology green roof for marketing reasons or to differentiate specific methods of achieving habitat creation for flora or fauna. To further complicate matters there are generic technical descriptions, used globally in standards and code of practice, to describe the construction of green roof systems. These are Extensive, Semi-Intensive, Intensive and Biodiverse. Following is a guide to some of the more common options available together with a brief overview of what they are and what they provide.

FDT Rhepanol hg PIB Single Ply Roofing Membrane Datasheet

SIG Design & Technology

Rhepanol PIB single ply is made from polyisobutylene (PIB), a synthetic rubber, and is the only roofing membrane currently available with a full Life Cycle Assessment that meets DIN EN ISO 14040 part ff, showing that it has no significant environmental impact at any time between its manufacturer and eventual disposal. Rhepanol hg is the perfect solution for every kind of green roof intensive or extensive, or landscaped. Resistant to root penetration without any further sealing where the roofing membrane ends, i.e. at the upper edge, as far as the vegetation is concerned the protection against root penetration starts. The hot air welded seam area is 100% watertight.
