The earthy copper tone of the building catches the sunlight, changing its look and feel throughout the day. Sotech worked closely with Axalta and other supply chain partners to develop a bespoke paint formulation for the project.

Lower Drayton Farm is a family fun farm, offering a variety of activities in the heart of the countryside.DCM installed Evo Pro Artificial Grass as part of the new indoor soft play area. Line markings were painted onto the sports grass to create a miniature sports pitch for children to play football and other ball games.The installation took place on an upper floor level, meaning the access for the project had to be taken into careful consideration when delivering materials and getting equipment to the area of works on site.

New Clement glazing lights up this industrial style refurbishment

The buildings around Clerkenwell Green in London feature a mixture of architectural styles. The area is designated a Conservation Area and some properties are listed. During the nineteenth century it was a busy centre for specialised crafts and manufacture and the buildings at No 10-11 were originally constructed as warehouses.The Uniform Clothing & Equipment Company (Uniquip) occupied the two buildings from around 1910 to the 1990s and was a well known supplier of band uniforms.Stagg Architects obtained planning permission to refurbish and extend the original 13,000 sq ft building by an additional 7,000 sq ft. The renovated building comprises a new roof extension, flexible spaces on the ground and lower ground floors and offices at the upper levels.A four storey side extension infill was constructed and Clement Windows Group were selected to manufacture the new and replacement steel windows and doors throughout the building. It was very important that the new windows were in keeping with the original building and did not detract from the character and appearance of the surrounding Conservation Area and adjoining Listed Buildings.Windows and doors from the Clement EB20 steel window range were chosen and powder paint coated in black with the accompanying hinges and handles painted to match the frames. The huge wall of steel windows to the side of building includes a patterned glass which allows light to enter while also providing privacy for the neighbouring properties.Photographs taken by Matt Chisnall, @mattchisnall

At The Sash Window Workshop we have been replacing and renovating timber windows and doors for various properties across London and the South for over 25 years.We were approached by an interior contracting company who were looking to replace the timber windows and doors for a property in South West London.The company requested new windows and doors which fitted the following specification:New traditional windows to match the existing style and be period appropriate;The highest possible thermal and acoustic performance;The maximum amount of light transmission possible through the glass;Bespoke window ironmongery;Painted internally to meet the customer’s specific paint colour requirements.Upon receiving the request for a quotation, one of our trained surveyors met with the architect for the project to discuss their requirements and advise how we could help. In total they required over 20 new sash windows and timber casement windows, and 4 new external wooden doors.As all of the new windows and doors that we manufacture are bespoke, we were able to ensure that their replacement windows and doors exactly matched the original designs, meaning that they fitted in with the surrounding properties and retained the aesthetic look and feel of the property.Due to the location of the property, all the new windows had to be carried up through the property by our experienced installers to be fitted.Both the customer and contractors were very happy with the work carried out, which helped transform the property into a beautiful home.

The school underwent a complete refurbishment in September 2015 and chose
to use a very pale blue paint scheme throughout most of the building. Within 3
months the areas within the school that see heavy traffic, including corridors and
the dining hall had begun to show signs of scuffing and wear, due to the pupils knocking against the walls with their bags. The site manager at the school was concerned by the level of damage and began to consider wall protection products to combat the problem.

Salcombe residence stands up to coastal conditions featuring Reynaers aluminium door and window systems
Reynaers Aluminium
The goal for this residential dwelling in Salcombe was to create a completely unique space, nestled into the cliff-side to provide a feeling of comfort and seclusion, while maximising the views over the estuary. To achieve this, ten Reynaers aluminium lift-and-slide doors, alongside aluminium windows and single-entrance doors were installed. The aluminium frames provide the strength and stability required for large expanses of glazing, while delivering required pascal ratings to resolutely stand up to enduring winds and harsh coastal conditions. Pre-anodized paint adds further durability to protect the property from the elements.

The innovative £26 million building at Edge Hill University, contains the University’s Library, Careers and Student Services, within its contemporary 8,000 square metre space.
The original design included a roof terrace, which increased the outdoor space, with carefully thought out landscaping and additional seating for the Library.
The FGP range, by Artform, was selected due to the co-ordinated design, including seating & litter bins. A key feature was the use of anodised aluminium frames, which offers a tough and durable finish, due to it being through coloured and not painted.

The purpose of this project was to create a new, clean, contemporary space full of light.
Particular attention was paid to the ceilings. The Barrisol® stretch ceiling hugs geometry curves designed by architects. Light is provided by inserts adorning the curved structure and guide passers-by with paths of light.
The entire project is synonymous with a welcoming, bright and friendly environment. With their experience, skill and attention to detail for a job well done, the Décor Acoustique specialists have been chosen to build the new look of Place Quebec. (Barrisol ceilings painted reflections)

Accoya selected for the National Institute of Forest Science, Korea
Accoya
Accoya selected for the cladding & decking of the new Forest of Genetic Resource Department, Korea. To date, this project marks the largest wooden scale structure in the whole of Korea. Because of this iconic status the construction had to ensure that the most advanced materials such as Accoya were chosen. Due to the project being 4 storeys high Accoya was selected for its extreme durability & stability.
Designed by IDS architects, Accoya was also chosen because of its natural & bespoke aesthetic. Due to Accoya’s light appearance the cladding could be painted to satisfy the designers requirements.

Accoya weatherboards have been realised on a private residence designed by Architecture 37 Limited, at Red Beach, Auckland, NZ.
Accoya was chosen for its durability and stability benefits which are required for coastal settings.
Profiled to Bevel Back profile with 158mm cover, the Accoya was band sawn face finish and painted with a colour called Bokara Grey (LRV 8).
The coastal tradition of the Accoya weatherboards is observed with stone anchor points at entry and chimneys either end. A living wall softens the road facade, while louvered elements filter sun and privacy.

After extensive consultation with all involved, the design they created to achieve this involved an eye-catching arrangement of Russwood’s factory-coated Accoya cladding.
Edd Rushton, the architect in charge of the project said, “Painted Accoya profiles provided a durable and cost-effective way of bringing new life to a tired 1970’s façade and creating a vibrant new public face for the school. Russwood supplied pre-coated Accoya cladding panels, as well as thicker profiles used in the louvred sun-screen, and offered specification and detailing advice throughout the project.”
Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Restaurant - Cornwall

Overlooking the beach on the north coast of Cornwall, Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall restaurant underwent a major refurbishment in 2013. Absolute Design took the lead on the project, with the aim of creating a more colourful and contemporary space. Inspired by a new wave of expressive art called “Pop Surrealism”, Newquay artist Ben Allen was commissioned to paint onto a blank white wall to transform the restaurant into a living work of art.
The designers wanted to create an equally striking flooring installation to complement the new, bold walls, and the Tarkett Floorcraft Design team were a perfect fit.
Westquay Watermark, Southampton

Designed by architects Acme, the stunning WestQuay Watermark bfeatures a dramatic cantilevered box wrapped in a transparent skin of curving stainless steel silver tubes.
SAS Special Projects designed, manufactured and installed a bespoke SAS750 Tubeline with a 76mm diameter and suspension system for the external soffit.
With the building being near the coast, the external skin required C4 corrosion protection. The material and paint used had to accommodate saline or marine environments and be able to be designed to withstand wind loads.
Open to the public, the WestQuay Watermark has now become a centerpiece of Southampton’s regeneration.
ASF Bespoke Waterfront Railings, Birkenhead

This long run of railings brought with it a number of manufacturing challenges and techniques. They needed to be curved in profile so they form a quayside post, curving and leaning inwards so they do not make a 'natural ladder' beside the water. The panels themselves are manufactured in mild steel, finished galvanised and then painted in satin finished graphite grey. The top rails are of a contrasting polished finished grade 316 stainless steel, finished satin brushed. The run of railings has a combination of straight and curved panels, meaning each individual horizontal infill bar needed to be curved individually.

As the owner of a 1980s brick-built detached house in Chessington, Toby Spencer had never liked the austere timber cladding that covered most of its top half. So when time and weather finally began to take their toll on the black painted wood after 10 years, he decided to consider a tougher, longer-lasting option. Having researched plastic cladding as a replacement, Toby was introduced to Hardie® Plank cladding by James Hardie preferred contractor Square Deal. And by choosing the product in Traditional Red, he said goodbye to the black weatherboard in favour of a brighter future.

AEM Demolition undertook the heavy side building works of the 35,000 square feet M&M World in London.
AEM required an access solution to provide reliable, durable and easy access to the building’s underfloor services. Howe Green’s 5000 Series Stainless Steel access covers were selected.
The covers were installed in a range of different internal areas as well as with a wide variety of different types of flooring, including bright red resin, painted concrete and carpet.
Designed and built to withstand the pressures of high volume pedestrian traffic, the covers have a 1 hour fire rating.

A range of one and two bedroom luxury properties in Huntingdon has become the latest prestigious apartment development to feature Neaco’s contemporary balustrade systems.
The four-storey complex includes extensive terrace areas with Neaco’s balustrade combining glass infill panels with aluminium stanchions and rails specified in a grey powder coated finish. In contrast to balustrade with a painted finish, which is prone to flaking, the hard-wearing powder coating ensures that the balustrade retains its aesthetic quality. It also provides low thermal conductivity to prevent handrails from becoming extremely cold to the touch in winter conditions.
New Clement steel windows preserve the beauty of historic buildings in Birmingham’s former Gun Quarter

The Clement Windows Group has manufactured and installed steel windows from its
W20 range for the Comet Works in Birmingham’s Princip Street.
The original warehouse buildings in the city’s former Gun Quarter have been converted by building re-animator Javelin Block into 20 impressive residential units, including lofts, apartments and mews houses. The Clement W20 range was specified for its ability to provide an almost exact match to the existing metal windows while offering modern advantages such as double glazing and a very long-lasting polyester powder paint coating requiring minimal maintenance.

Accoya weatherboards selected for a private residence in New Zealand

Designed by Trevor Wilson (Architecture 37 o) & constructed by Harbour City Builders, Accoya was chosen for the cladding of this Orewa beachfront home. The Accoya profiles were created using a custom rusticated board with a bandsawn face, before being painted and finished using Resene Ironsand which provided the overall dark matt effect.
The bandsawn face shows off the bespoke natural wood grain of the Accoya wood, giving it a warm texture in comparison to the concrete. Because of Accoya’s improved stability, coatings such as this can last up to two times longer in comparison to other hardwoods.

When Purbrook Park School needed an upgrade, Hampshire County Council enlisted the help of Dulux Trade. The brief was to take this old, but cherished Grade II listed building and bring it into the modern era with the clever use of colour - whilst still satisfying the heritage and conservation needs.
Together they selected a tasteful colour scheme that embraced the building’s rich heritage. The resulting scheme blended cream and earthy hues: Chalk Coast, Oxford Blue, Warm Ash and Grey Tweed in Weathershield Masonry Paint, Weathershield Exterior Gloss and Undercoat, to give a more modern, fresh feel.

Sauna360 UK was commissioned to design and install this opulent steam room to complement our private client's impressive home gym complex.A full glass fascia was chosen to create a feeling of space and light whilst also showcasing the striking steam room interior. Finished in exquisite mother of pearl mosaics from Siminetti in "biscotti" to provide a wealth of colour and movement, an eye catching feature is created.The brief from our private client was to incorporate the existing WC and shower facility discreetly. A full wall of back painted glass was designed and installed to create beautifully clean lines and a seamless appearance.
Hampstead Residential Property, London - Waterproofing Render

A previous client of Renderseal Ltd – who had works undertaken on his home in Hampstead in 2013 – requested help recently with further works at the same property.Due to a defective external drain problem, water ingress had occurred in the client’s rear bedroom in addition to damp staining and paint blistering in the side entrance hall.Familiar with Renderseal Ltd’s expertise, the homeowner returned to the waterproofing specialist for help. Providing its services throughout London and the Home Counties, Renderseal Ltd’s plan was to install a Sika waterproofing system that would combat the issues created by the home’s defective drain.
The Holburne Museum, Bath

To protect exhibits housed within this magnificent Georgian building, Selectaglaze designed and installed single hinged casements incorporating Anti-UV glazing and multi-point locking accredited to “Secured by Design”. Other design considerations included a paint finish matching the surrounding décor and maintenance of clean lines via flush hinges and a flush lock. The secondary glazing blends imperceptibly with the monumental sash windows with no additional sight lines to mar the spectacular views.
The double window system also proves high levels of sound insulation and the inclusion of a low emissivity coating to the glass markedly reduces heat loss.
Fleetwood Wharf - ASF 5 Rail Quayside Post and Rail

ASF manufactured the 5 rail quayside post for this project. The client wanted the baseplate system for a parapet style application, but using a full height post.The posts are manufactured in 100% recycled cast iron, made from old brake discs, and they system meets the required parapet loadings for the application.Posts were finished in a metal shield solvent based wet paint which is the best way to protect any metal in a marine or waterside environment. The rails were left galvanised to offer a contrast with the post, which does offer an effective visual once fully installed.

Suma International Manufacturing Company fabricated 773 fire doors for Tamdeen Square Residential Towers, which are situated in Kuwait City.The FD60 doorsets incorporated Halspan Optima door blanks.Tamdeen Square is a new urban development in the south of Kuwait City that will feature 74 retail stores, a hotel, and Tamdeen Square Residential Towers. Strategically located in Sabah Al Salem, the project location has access to two of Kuwait’s main highways – Fahaheel Express Highway and the Sixth Ring Road Expressway.The Tamdeen Square Residential Towers project features three 40 floor towers with luxury residential apartments featuring a swimming pool, gymnasium, multi-purpose communal spaces, and a car park containing 800 spaces. The three towers combined contain 256 sea-view luxury apartments and 7 car parking floors.The elegantly constructed apartments have been finished to the highest international standards, and as such, Suma International Manufacturing Company decided to incorporate Halspan Optima door cores in this project.The fire-rated doors feature wooden frames and are located in all of the main entrances, the staff entrances, and the entrance doors in every apartment per level, the doors feature a bamboo veneer face panel and the drivers’ entrances feature white paint.Halspan Optima is durability tested to severe duty and features Halspan’s unique 3-layer particle board and is suitable for veneer, laminate, or paint finishes.Photography courtesy of Suma International Manufacturing Company.
New steel windows by Clement selected for Convent refurbishment

Ladywell Convent is the Motherhouse of the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood (FMDM) congregation, an international religious congregation of Catholic women who proclaim the joy and freedom of the Gospel in the spirit of Francis and Claire of Assisi.Situated in the beautiful Surrey hills, the Convent offers hospitality for returning Missionaries and visitors and is also the site of La Verna, a home for elderly sisters and those who support them.Previously named Tuesley Court and bought by the FMDM in 1956, Ladywell is Arts and Crafts in style, Grade II listed and an oasis of calm and tranquility just outside Godalming.An extensive refurbishment was recently carried out to the residential and conference buildings on the site ensuring their suitability for an aging group of sisters. Two new support buildings were also constructed.Side hung casements from the Clement SMW range with genuine 12mm flat leads were installed in the new Greccio building, polyester powder painted RAL 9005 (Jet Black) semi gloss with the handles, hinges and peg stays powder coated to match the frames. Windows from the Clement EB20 steel window range with 12mm oval leads were installed in the Staff Building, also painted RAL 9005.Michael O’Brien from O&D Constuction said:“Steel windows manufactured by Clement were the right choice because of their close match to the existing heritage windows at Ladywell Convent. How to restore sun damaged plastic

Over time, plastic exposed to the Great British weather, UV rays and pollution become dull and faded. Some things can be expensive to replace and painting can be time consuming.So, today we are going to be show casing how to restore sun damaged plastic with Owatrol Polytrol.All except from the gas box were treated with a warm soapy solution and then rinsed with fresh clean water. After allowing the surface to dry for 24 hours, Polytrol colour restorer was then applied using a brush and left to work for between 15 and 20 minutes. After this time, the excess was removed with a lint free cloth

Set in the heart of the West End, Duke Street is a high end area of commercialised buildings and expensive flats. Some of the listed properties on the street date back as early as the 18th century. Alumasc Rainwater’s range fitted perfectly in this setting. Painted Cast Iron and Heritage Cast Aluminium were specified by Latitude Architects.“The main objective was to provide and produce material as close to the original,” says Alumasc Rainwater. “Bespoke castellated guttering was installed with special curled ear belts to secure the pipes. Together they provided an exact replication of style to the original. We also custom-made guttering that was designed to fit at a specific angle and level of the building.”
