Located on the ground floor of Plantation Place building, the restaurant's contemporary interior designed by brand consultancy I-AM is light and spacious with high ceilings and long glass frontage. Armourcoat Sculptural creates seamless wall surfaces with impactful designs and cast relief. Each design is created from cast GRG (Glass-fibre Reinforced Gypsum) panels, CAD generated to enable a continuous pattern or unique decorative effect.
YSP Pathway – 'Walk of Art 2'
AATi (Antislip Antiwear Treads International)
In 2019 as part of Yorkshire Sculpture Park’s £3.6million visitor centre development, AATi were approached to manufacture Cast Iron anti-slip floor plates to construct the “Walk of Art 2”. This, a striking 100 metre long installation designed by Gordon Young, a well-renowned artist known best for his large public art installations. 51 cast Iron plates make up one of the entrance walkways and bear over 10,000 names of supports of YSP, immortalising them for future generations.

Protection: top of the agenda in the great Auckland Castle rescue

Overall, the newly renovated rooms are far better equipped to house exhibitions and museum collections. Selectaglaze is proud to have been involved in this project that will generate a legacy for Bishop Auckland; supporting an attraction that will breathe new life and opportunities into the local economy and overall visitor experience.
Verde, Newcastle

Verde is situated on the junction of Pitt Street and Wellington Street in Newcastle. Comprising of two buildings forming a V-shape, the facade runs parallel to both streets. These two structures are clad in green glazed terracotta tile laid horizontally across both buildings with a selection of projecting tiles to create a sense of movement and signalling the entrance to the development. For the glazing specification, the building was thermally modelled as part of the Part L Assessment with performance requirements for the windows generated by its outcomes and outlined by the projects building services engineer.

The Treatment lagoon at Market Rasen is formed by creation of an earthworks bunded area, which is then lined with JUTAMAT 5000 (GCL) as a secondary containment liner; overlain by JUNIFOL 2.00mm HDPE geomembrane as the primary containment liner. Once the lagoon is formed and lined the provision of a JUINFOL 1.00mm HDPE floating geomembrane cover to contain all odours is implemented. It is therefore possible to inflate the floating cover, providing a simple means of methane storage. Currently lagoons of this type may be constructed more for their methane generation than in the past.

HERADESIGN® Spins its Acoustic Magic at Cycle Culture

Acoustic consideration was critical for the design of a new generation cycle studio in London. An isolated sound box was constructed to form the studio with stud walls built to separate it from the café – using a lift shaft model allowing for air and acoustic separation.To complement the paired back industrial ‘Scandi’ design and monochrome pallet, HERADESIGN® in black was specified throughout. Joe Stuart of Warehome Architects said, “Heradesign was perfect for this project. It provides excellent acoustic properties and we love its natural, raw wood wool texture. Specified in black it is really striking.”

Lionweld Kennedy provided a package of work for 'Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm' which is just off the coast of John o'Groats in Scotland. We designed the project, ensuring steel and GRP was used efficiently to reduce costs for the client. In-house at our Middlesbrough factory, we fabricated steel and GRP grating to provide flooring and handrail solutions across the windfarm. The windfarm has the potential to generate 750MW of renewable energy, is capable of providing enough wind powered electricity for up to 450,000 homes.The whole project was delivered in time and under budget.

England’s first hydro-electric power station has fitted Eternit’s fibre cement Profile 6 sheeting as part of major refurbishment work.Built in 1932 and based in Tavistock, Devon, Mary Tavy Hydro-electric Power Station generates enough electricity for 2,500 homes, and was once the largest hydro-electric scheme in England.It is owned and operated by South West Water, who took the decision to specify Profile 6 sheeting after realising that the original fibre cement sheets used for the roof of the turbine hall had lasted for over seventy years.

With its remote location and harsh operating environment, Engie First Hydro contacted the Latchways team at MSA Safety to provide the complete solution for all its operational and maintenance fall protection needs. 7 million cubic meters of water are pumped through the giant turbines to generate power and then reversed as pumps to return the water to the reservoir. This tough working environment presents unique safety challenges for the electrical & mechanical operational and maintenance teams when working at height.

Whites Concrete has supplied a pre-cast concrete chamber for an 11-tonne Archimedean screw turbine installed on the banks of the River Esk in Whitby, North Yorkshire by national engineering and construction company JN Bentley.
The Whites Concrete chamber has been constructed using robust Groundwall L-shaped units, to house the 2.9m diameter screw turbine. The latter will operate with up to 4 cumec with a rated capacity of 51.6KW as it generates electricity for Esk Energy (Yorkshire). Esk Energy secured funding towards the cost of the project through a community share issue.

As the leading manufacturer of fire and smoke curtains, Coopers were appointed to develop a smoke curtain system to provide an unintrusive method capable of controlling smoke migrating from the lower floors. It was also necessary to protect the un-insulated glazing installed above the atrium’s reception area with an approved fire curtain barrier system approved to provide a one hour insulating zone.
Coopers manufactured, installed and commissioned two SmokeStop smoke curtains developed to control smoke generated in the event of fire and effectively channel it away from occupants during evacuation.

Accoya was selected for the black coated weatherboards on the front of the house, due to its durability & stability benefits. Because of Accoya’s modification technique it's the ideal wood for cladding.
Generally, problems occur with darker coatings on cladding, due to shrink & swell being exasperated by the solar gain. But, Accoya wood’s superior dimensional stability negates this problem & there's very little maintenance.
The cladding needed to be aesthetically pleasing as well as highly durable in order to withstand the extreme climates in NZ. Accoya was also chosen due to its rot resistant & insect deterring benefits.

The terminal was constructed as part of the London Gateway Project, which also included the construction of Europe’s largest logistics park adjacent to the terminal. DP World acquired the London Gateway Plan in 2006 from P&O for £3.92bn ($7.3bn).
The two facilities were built on the site of a former Shell oil refinery in Essex. Construction work on the £1.5bn ($2.43bn) terminal project began in 2010. It was privately financed by DP World. The two facilities together have generated approximately 12,000 direct jobs and more than 20,000 indirect jobs.

This project was in the heart of the Vale of Yorkshire, within and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and planning sensitivities dictated a green roof was needed on the office building.
The clients wanted the existing farm buildings, which had been converted into offices and storage space, to blend into the hillside with the structures having the very lowest impact on the surrounding countryside.The timber framed building meant a low weight solution was required so the 100mm deep pre-grown modules were ideal.

The construction company wanted a strong aluminium profile that provides a simple, safe secure edge for steps covered in ceramic tiles.
The flange sits underneath the tile and the top section protects the riser tile and prevents water ingress into the joint gap. The top section provides a perfect step edge with a grooved profile face for extra grip and has a generous 10-12mm deep front face to highlight the step edge from the bottom of the steps.
Contractors decided Genesis NLM123 would fit perfectly and have since ordered 303 linea meters to be installed in Fragatta Tower, Colombia.

Folding sliding shutters play their part in the fascinating interplay between inside and outside. The new development near Izmir is characterized by the urban structure of a gated apartment complex with 168 units with floor areas ranging from 180 to 480 square meters. The wooden folding sliding shutters feature HAWA Frontfold 20 hardware which bathes the rooms in light when open. When closed, they offer an effective screen delicately integrated to protect from the sun and provide privacy.

Delta Registered Installers, Oaks Damp Proofing having previously undertaken work for the client were commissioned to design and install a Cavity Drain Waterproofing system that would meet BS8102:2009 the British Standard for the protection of structures against water from the ground, Grade 3 (no dampness or water penetration acceptable) to the cellar area of The Blonde Hedgehog.
The Cellar having been used historically to store beer was not waterproofed historically. Beer cellars are notable for being very cold and wet. For hundreds of years beer cellars were always underground – because underground rooms are generally quite cool.

The San Siro playing field was designed to be heated using an under-soil system featuring single-head, in-line electronic pumps. In the wider facility areas, a heating substation was installed, incorporating wet-rotor circulators and in-line electronic pumps for the climate conditioning systems. Additionally, co-generation systems with both single-head and twin-head in-line electronic pumps were implemented for auxiliary plants dedicated to heating energy production.Despite the initial investment in inverter technology for the pumps, the operational optimization results in a lower running cost, showcasing a great example of an energy efficient installation.

Quick and easy dry-build Anchor Diamond blocks were used to form 300Lm of low-height landscape retaining walls and interesting seating areas for cross-shaped cuttings through a large grassy mound. The mound creates a striking landscape feature and focal point in front of the college and was formed using the large surplus of spoil generated during the demolition works. Over 3,000SQM of Boulevard paving was also selected to give a clean crisp contemporary feel to the hard landscaping areas with the associated cost benefits of concrete blocks and the production quality consistency needed for the phased construction.

Leading stainless steel specialist, GEC Anderson limited, have released details of an exciting new ‘wet zone’ concept.
Available now, the new wet zone option enables specifiers to include a pressed recess anywhere within the stainless steel worktop area. Typically, the recess would be formed around sink bowl(s) but it can also be used to create lowered areas for other applications. For example, to locate chopping boards or to act as a general catchment area.
The pressed recess detail is 3mm deep and can be formed in any size and position. It has a minimum radius of 10mm.
Cardiff Castle - F. Ball products create unassailable flooring finish at Cardiff Castle

F. Ball products have been used in a resilient flooring installation capable of withstanding high temperatures as part of the refurbishment of Cardiff Castle visitor centre.
Firstly, old carpet and ceramic tiles had to be uplifted. Contractors then mechanically prepared the subfloor.
Next, Stopgap P131 general-purpose primer was applied to the subfloor, enabling promotion of the application characteristics and stop the unacceptably rapid drying of subsequently applied levelling compounds, in addition to preventing pinholing.
Stopgap 1200 Pro levelling compound was then applied over the entire subfloor to create a perfectly smooth base for the receipt of new floorcoverings.
Primary Care Centre, Tralee - F. Ball products chosen for new Primary Care Centre

F. Ball products have been used as part of a refurbishment of the Centrepoint Building in Tralee, Ireland, which will now serve as a HSE Primary Care Centre.
The concrete subfloor of the building was primed using Stopgap P131, a general-purpose primer for absorbent subfloors.
With a quick turnaround required for the job, the pump-specialising contractors needed a levelling compound which, in their own words, “had a quick curing time, could be pump-applied, and had high compressive strength.” Ticking every box was Stopgap Red Bag levelling compound, which contractors applied at a thickness of 8mm.
Chelsea & Westminster Hospital - ‘Astronomical’ success at Chelsea hospital thanks to F. Ball

F. Ball products have been used in the refurbishment of the flooring in the ‘Jupiter’ ward at Chelsea & Westminster hospital in Chelsea, London.
Firstly, the subfloor was primed with Stopgap P131 general-purpose primer to promote the adhesion of the underlayment, prior to the application of the fast-setting, minimal preparation two component smoothing underlayment, Stopgap 1200 Pro.
In as little as four hours, Stopgap 1200 Pro is ready to receive floorcoverings, therefore, contractors were able to return a short time later to install a selection of Polyflor floorcoverings in the ward using Styccobond F46, a solvent-free pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive.
