Our client Prestige All Parts, a car dealership, aimed to establish a new showroom and office space. They sought an innovative solution that would not only set their showroom apart but also ensure functionality and appeal to visiting customers.To address our clients needs, we proposed a comprehensive redesign of the shopfront. The focal point of our solution was the integration of expansive windows to maximise the influx of natural light into the showroom. This strategic approach aimed to create an inviting ambiance while showcasing the displayed vehicles in their best light. In addition to that, the implementation of a sliding automatic door system for the main entrance allowed for enhanced accessibility and also offered a seamless and user friendly experience for customers entering.Beyond its practical benefits, such as ease of access for visitors, this feature symbolised the dealership’s commitment to modernity and innovation. By implementing these proposed solutions, our client not only transformed their physical space but also redefined their brand identity.

We’ve created a striking new reception area plus contemporary monochrome superloos and a cycle change area as part of an office refurbishment. Each self-contained superloo cubicle contains a toilet and wall-mounted vanity unit, with the full height Alto toilet cubicle doors providing complete privacy for office staff. Manufactured in white high pressure laminate, the toilet cubicle doors were completed with matching Corian solid surface edging and black ironmongery to match the rest of the black washroom accessories. Washroom also delivered toughened low iron glass back-painted wall panelling for each toilet cubicle.

La Villa has more than 18 double and 12 single rooms. The interior design of each is unique and was furnished with every amenity. The result of the first project of this type is a house with an organic, soft design - the furnishings minimalistic, high-quality and modern. The house consists of triple-shelled walls that are filled with insulating mass. With the help of a giant 3D printer, the concrete mass was applied layer by layer. And within only a few months, a single-family house with 160 m² of living space was created.Nothing was to be missing from the house with its furnishings; the aim was to emphasise the high-quality and special style of the building. The concrete layers were to remain visible inside and out - reduced, clean and yet expressive in its style. This claim runs consistently through all rooms of the house. The bathrooms are equipped with KEUCO IXMO fittings in the shower and on the bathtub. The minimalistic fitting elements blend into the futuristic image, restrained yet strong in design. The shiny chrome finish, reflect a brilliant contrast to the dark tiles in the shower.Aligning with the principle of the house "without corners and edges", round cover plates were chosen for the fittings.  The accessories at the washbasin and WC also fulfil the credo of the design concept: EDITION 400 with its round form language is filigree and the accessories are high-quality eye-catchers. They enhance the bathroom with their understatement.What once started as a pilot project could influence building in the future and also offer installation and plumbing companies with completely new challenges.The materials and fittings of the bathrooms were chosen to match the special wall texture. "Without corners and edges", the EDITION 400 accessories from KEUCO perfectly fit to the motto, as does the KEUCO IXMO bath mixer with round cover plates.In addition to numerous accessories for the toilet and washbasin area, the EDITION 400 range also includes many hooks and towel rails. The shower holder integrates a diverter, where you can choose between a large overhead shower and a hand shower. Two in one: The KEUCO free-standing accessory for the toilet area is the flexible solution for a toilet paper holder and toilet brush set. Thanks to the large base plate, it is particularly stable.  

Jewers Doors has for many years supplied contour doors which are specially shaped to encompass the fuselage of an aircraft in order to provide an environmental seal. These doors allow part of an aircraft (e.g. the nose or tail) to be within the controlled environment of a hangar for maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) operations. With part (often the major part) of an aircraft remaining outside the hangar, space within the hangar is available for other aircraft to be worked upon – thus increasing productivity. Such an arrangement also means that MRO operations can be undertaken on larger Code E and F aircraft in hangars that would otherwise be too small.

They required a solution to stop dust going out of the building instead of being aspirated by the installed system when emptying grain trucks into the wheat grain intake pit.The solutionHart installed three Speedor Storm doors from 4m wide x 5m high to 7m high. The Speedor Storm is the next generation of large external door which has improved wind resistance on both sides of the door and is suitable for larger openings, greater than 6m. This door does not require separate wind bars as the curtain contains wind bracing every 1m and is held securely into the guide channels with rollers at either side. The success Hart Doors sent an experienced engineer to Mombasa to supervise and assist in the installation and commissioning of the doors along with the training of staff to install future orders. 18 more Speedor Storms were ordered for a specialised dry bulk discharge and handling terminal for grain imports, located in Shimanzi, Mombasa.

Ongoing replacement of old doorsThe challenge Hart were consulted to help reduce vermin access mainly from pigeons, seagulls and geese attracted by the feed/agricultural nature of the production process. The doors needed to be capable of thousands of operations in dusty conditions allowing large vehicles fast access to the facilities. The solution With over 30 Hart doors installed across six production facilities, the latest contract replaced existing roller shutters, which remain open all day, with seven Speedor Storms, one Speedor Super and one fast action roller shutter. We were approached to design & manufacture a range of steel fire-resistant riser doors and personnel doors for Europe's most advanced data centre, located in Canary Wharf, London.This 8-storey building offers 73,400 sqm of space - they needed simple yet secure riser doors to provide fire protection to the internal ducts, containing all the cabling and plumbing required in a sleek, discreet solution that provided maximum access, performance and safety.Alongside the riser doors, Eurobond designed & manufactured personnel doors that could be electronically controlled to control the access and provide an audit trail of personnel movement.The 2 key elements of this project were the riser doors - and the sheer volume required to cover the 8 levels and the access control requirements that had to be well planned and coordinated by Eurobond, the security contractor, end-user and architect.

Yeoman Shield were assigned by main contractors Bauvill Construction to install a wall and door protection system as part of the scheme to create a new Cardiac Critical Care Unit (CCU) and Cardiology ward along with an access corridor at William Harvey Hospital in Kent.The access corridor was fitted with Yeoman Shield’s Guardian Twin Handrail in a stunning colour combination of burgundy and mid grey with matching accessories and attractive stainless steel connective brackets helping to add a unique touch to the décor of the area.Chosen for its dual functionality the Guardian Twin handrail incorporates an ergonomic upper handrail as support for people who require assistance and a lower robust protection rail, which sitting slightly forward guards both the handrail and the walls from marking and damage caused by the passage of wheeled equipment.The same Guardian Twin Handrail system was also deployed in the CCU this time with a red lower rail, a striking contrast to the mid grey handrail. As part of their expansion, The Wild Place Project (Bristol Zoo Network) enlisted our help in the construction of their new Giraffe Enclosure. The £1m purpose-built giraffe home was constructed over 1.8 acres and needed bespoke doors to suit the needs of the giraffes. HAG designed special doors in-house; the doors needed to be sliding to allow easy access for the zoo keepers, insulated and, obviously, rather tall to accommodate the giraffes comfortably! The giraffe enclosure has been a huge success with the public and HAG truly enjoyed being part of such a unique project.

Heathrow Airport is the UK’s largest and busiest airport connecting the UK to over 80 long haul destinations and flying over 80 million passengers worldwide. Project/doors: Hart has over installed over 280 doors across all terminals including high speed smoke screens, fire conveyor shutters, security shutters, internal and external high speed doors, insulated fast action doors, sectional doors and pedestrian doors.The challenge Terminal 5 baggage handling system serves around 32 million passengers per year and handles around 6000 bags per hour.  Hart were asked to design, manufacture and install a specialist and unique automatic smoke screen system capable of handling over 6000 bags per hour, while providing a seal for 30 minutes in the event of fire. The solution Hart were the only company to provide a solution that fully met all the design requirements. Two years after the initial talks with the client, Hart successfully completed the manufacture and installation of all of the high speed smoke/fire screens within the main check in area, comprising 102 check in desks. Hart also installed a mixed package of roller shutter and fire doors in the lower ground service area and fire shutters on the Tube access tunnels leading directly to Terminal 5. The success Hart was chosen for the quality of engineering and the ability to meet the clients demanding specification and operating requirements. Hart continues to work with contractors and OEM’s such as Vanderlande, Mace and Balfour Beatty on site supplying upgrades and new doors when required

An innovative door design was required for a new manufacturing process about to be introduced in the new Nissan battery plant manufacturing facility. Project/doors:100 Bespoke Conveyor screensThe challengeNissan required a unique door for a new production facility. The doors needed to give 60-minute fire resistance and be capable of completing up to 400,000 open/close cycles a year. Further, the doors needed to meet strict air leakage criteria and be able to withstand sudden air-pressure increases. The doors also had to interface with third-party equipment such as conveyor belt controls and fire alarms. Each required an LCD display control panel that provided a quick and easy diagnosis of what each door was doing at any point in time. The solution Using an already proven design solution which Hart developed for the baggage handling system in Heathrow’s Terminal 5, Hart adapted the product to suit this new requirement. As this was not a product already on offer, invention and rigorous testing were required.The successA decade has passed since the doors were installed and commissioned. The urgent need for a replacement rear goods entrance at a high-turnover commercial fast-food restaurant brought our proposed comprehensive solution to address both security and functionality concerns.Recognising the critical role of a secure entrance in the restaurant’s operations, we recommended the installation of a commercial-grade steel door and frame. This robust system not only provided enhanced security but also ensured ease of use for restaurant staff, crucial for maintaining smooth workflow amid the bustling environment. Anticipating the challenges posed by the high usage typical in such establishments, we tailored the solution to withstand heavy use and abuse, including the impact of large food delivery cages. To bolster the door’s durability, we integrated a custom heavy duty pyramid bumper bar system, extending its lifespan and longevity against daily wear and tear.Moreover, to enhance security measures and streamline access control, we incorporated a digital keypad externally. This feature allowed the door to be kept closed and locked securely while granting staff convenient access from outside. Not only did this improve security protocols, but it also contributed to rodent control efforts by minimising entry points. Additionally, to impress trade visitors and further elevate the entrance experience, we introduced a modern digital video door entry system. This innovative technology provided a seamless connection between the entrance and kitchen staff, enabling real-time visual identification of visitors and ensuring efficient management of incoming deliveries and guests. By seamlessly integrating security, functionality, and modern technology, we successfully revitalised the rear goods entrance, ensuring it could meet the demands of the fast-paced restaurant environment while enhancing overall operational efficiency and security measures.

KAL is a member of the Gowan Group, a family-owned holding company, directly controlling many successful trading companies as well as significant property holdings and financial investments in public and private companies in Ireland, Northern Ireland and the UK.The largest appliance distributors in Ireland, KAL rely on a 30,000 square foot designer showroom for unique kitchen and domestic appliances. Their showroom at Dublin’s Citywest is one of the largest of its kind in Europe showcasing all their kitchen and consumer appliance brands.The ChallengeAfter conducting a survey of the 1,000m2 roof, it was determined that the areas of the roof, specifically the office area, were in need of repair. Some areas of the original roof build-up were starting to leak and lap joints failing due to a poor install.Following the site survey and adhesion tests, a site-specific specification was produced for the client and contractor to overview once all parties were happy with the proposals. With some complex detailing work involved, a decision was made to overlay the existing roof build with Polyroof Protec System.The SolutionPolyroof’s Protec System, a hybrid polymer liquid system with extremely fast curing and installation times, was the chosen system of use for the project. Due to its fully cold-applied application, the works could be carried out during working hours, with little disruption to the office staff below and little working time lost for the client.IPRS Limited, an experienced roofing and panel repair contractor and Polyroof Approved Contractor, were chosen to undertake the work on the project. Firstly, before any work could begin, the original waterproofing of the office roof was pressure-washed and cleaned down. Once all initial preparation was completed, the Protec System application could begin.All areas requiring priming before the main system application were primed and allowed to cure. Any joints were sealed using taping mat and Protec Resin and allowed to cure. Once this preparation had been completed the main Polyroof Protec System, chosen in light grey by the client, was applied.The first coat was allowed to cure before the final coat was applied. Due the Protec System Rapid Cure technology, the finished roof could be walked on after just 30-60 minutes after applications. This allowed for large roof areas to be made fully waterproof within a matter of hours. In addressing the needs of a high-traffic SEN school, we encountered the challenge of facilitating maximum opening width at the main entrance to accommodate pupils arriving in a variety of special needs vehicles, all while prioritising security and safety for the students.To meet these multifaceted requirements, we devised a tailored solution centred around the design and installation of two bi-folding automatic aluminium doors. These doors were strategically positioned to create an internal lobby, providing a controlled environment where staff could independently manage each door. Crucially, this setup was seamlessly integrated with the existing school access control system, ensuring a high level of security while facilitating smooth traffic flow.Our innovative design also incorporated an air lock system, enhancing safety protocols by creating a secure buffer zone between the exterior and interior of the school. This air lock system not only provided added security but also offered the flexibility to transition to fully automated doors during open days and emergencies, ensuring efficient and safe ingress and egress as needed.By combining functionality, security, and adaptability, our solution successfully addressed the unique challenges faced by SEN school, providing a safe and accessible entrance that could accommodate the diverse needs of its student body while maintaining a high level of security at all times.

Bettys & Taylors of Harrogate is a fourth generation independent family business, passionate about some of the finer things in life – beautiful tea rooms, handmade cakes, traditional breads, proper tea and top quality coffee. They are the business behind Yorkshire Tea, Taylors of Harrogate coffee and the famous Bettys Café Tea Rooms.Project/doors: 5 Speedor Super, 1 Speedor Mini, 12 Fire Shutter, 21 Pedestrian doors, 1 Electric roller shutter, 1 Insulated Roller ShutterThe challenge Due to the size and weight of the insulated roller shutter at 10.5m wide and 6.3m high, this was a difficult installation in an area where the headroom was very tight. A crane was required to lift the shutter into position after opening two holes in the building’s roof so lifting chains could be dropped through to facilitate moving the shutter into position. The solutionHart was contracted by Sir Robert McAlpine to supply and install a range of industrial doors at the Taylors of Harrogate site.  This included the installation of the three-tonne insulated roller shutter completing a work package of over 40 doors. The success The installation of the shutter concluded a project which Hart was involved with through Sir Robert McAlpine and which saw almost every Hart door product installed – from Speedor high speed doors to fire shutters, security shutters and steel personnel doors. 

Due to the bustling activity of our client’s builders merchant business, we recognised the need to enhance the accessibility and user-friendliness of their commercial unit. The existing setup featured a pedestrian entrance alongside a roller shutter entrance designated for goods in bay, which posed challenges in accommodating the high traffic flow and meeting customer expectations.To address these concerns, we proposed a comprehensive solution that would transform the customer entrance into a wider, more inviting space. A framed shop front system was strategically installed just inside the loading bay entrance, creating a seamless transition between the outdoor and indoor spaces. To ensure continuity and functionality, a short canopy roof was added, along with a heavy duty brush seal to bridge the gap to the roller shutter entrance.The focal point of our solution was the integration of a heavy duty commercial grade silent automatic bi-parting sliding door system. This innovative addition not only enhanced user-friendliness for customers but also facilitated rapid opening and closing, crucial for a busy builders merchant environment. By combining functionality, convenience, and efficiency, we successfully transformed the customer entrance into a welcoming and efficient gateway that catered to the needs of our client’s thriving business.

As part of the extension to the Tate Modern there was a requirement for doorsets with unusual characteristics. The RC4 security rated doors were quite large at 3m x 3m which, combined with the need to clad the doors in the same material as the building, created potential certification issues.Teckentrup was part of the team for the project and worked with the test houses through the design process to achieve a solution for the building.

The Port of Tyne is one of UK’s most efficient deep-sea ports, handling a diverse range of cargoes from cars to containers and bulk goods to renewable energy across five continents. They offer a unique end-to-end solution ensuring goods move safely, securely and efficientlyThe project4 Speedor Storms designed, manufactured and installed to mobile hoppersThe challenge:A key part of the port’s ship unloading procedure required fast and reliable doors to compliment their logistics process. Materials such as wood pellets are unloaded into hoppers which simultaneously load directly into lorries that drive into the hoppers. The process generates dust which must be controlled as a residential area is close by. These hoppers are in highly exposed areas and require a product that withstands strong winds.The Solution:The mobile hopper systems originally came with rigid doors that blew out as they were rated Class 3 and were not fit for purpose. We resolved the issue by installing robust Speedor Storms, the Speedor variant with exceptional wind resistance up to Class 5 (over 90 mph). Their automatic action and robust design ensured that the doors worked during all weather conditions ensuring the efficiency of the port is maintained.The success:The original project was to install 2 doors to the hopper systems. Due to the reliability of the first 2 doors, a further 2 Speedor Storms were installed a few years later.

It cost £3bn to build and was the most sustainable developments in Europe in 2021, attaining LEED platinum certification for green building.The design and quality of finish in the properties is extremely high end and includes high spec finishes including natural stonework finished by Italian stone Artisans, bronzed ironwork balustrades inspired by the botanical prints of William Morris and elegantly crafted wooden floors and bespoke cabinetry.ECLISSE UK supplied 250 bespoke pocket door systems, including Classic singles and Classic doubles with accessories, to the project and they were predominately used in the bathrooms and living rooms. Classic singles were used in bathrooms to create more space where the arc of standard hinged doors would have otherwise encroached on the space. This allowed more space for larger shower enclosures and enhanced room layouts.
