Hadnall Village - CORE Path installation

Our client was Hadnall Parish Council, with Hadnall village having a historic moat locate at its centre with a large open field adjacent to a section of the Shropshire way. The council was determined to provide easy access for all members of the public to view this monument and gain safe passage across the field to the local church and village shop. Part of the pathway passed through the area within the historic moat site, controlled by Historic England which posed several issues regarding excavation given the high probability of ancient artefacts being buried within the grounds.

The clients had severe damp issues on the exterior wall of the house. The driveway sloped toward the property and the area had no working drainage system in place. The clients wanted a free draining surface that would not require constant maintenance and could handle the frequent car use that was suitable for a baby stroller along with a solution to the rising damp problems they were experiencing.

We manufactured and delivered wall copings that complimented the natural stone walling. We had a three week window to manufacture and deliver the stone from receiving the order. All the stone had to be installed before the grand opening of the store. The order comprised of a mixture of straight and radius copings. We provided various colour samples to choose the suitable match. The order was fast tracked through the drawing department, the units were manufactured and delivered to site on time. The cast stone copings provide both a functional and aesthetically pleasing entrance for Ikea Sheffield.

This 12 year old, sea-facing property suffered from pink algae growth affecting the textured through-colour render and copings stones. There was a leak to the external staircase and the balcony downspout, which caused staining and what appeared to be salt efflorescence; this area required attention prior to decoration. KEIM Royalan was specified on the sea-facing elevation to protection the property from harsh weather conditions and give a long lasting, colour-fast and decorative matt finish. KEIM Lotexan was applied onto the coping stones to help shed water and reduce algae growth.

The award-winning seven storey building provides spaces for events and business networking alongside office space for companies working on a range of future-oriented urban challenges. Being the first step towards Newcastle Science City, The Core has been co-developed by Newcastle University and the local council. The building has been designed with sustainability in mind, featuring a four-storey living wall, bee hotels, planted sedum roofs, rainwater harvesting and energy efficient lighting.

Malmaison, the luxury boutique hotel in London, required the installation of wet rooms into 97 guest ensuites. The bathrooms needed to be fully waterproofed and appropriate drainage systems installed that would be able to cope with flow rates of up to 29 L/min in the marble monsoon showers. Modular Wet-Floor systems were recommended for each bathroom, allowing a contemporary drain to be situated in almost any position within the shower area. Linear stainless steel grills were installed, capable of coping with the desired flow rates and the bathrooms were waterproofed using RIW Tilesafe and RIW FWM.

This private residence in rural Kent required an asphalt surfacing material for its large private driveway and parking area. The site was situated at the bottom of a sloped access road and had a narrow entrance. Sotech supplied Optima FC secret fix rainscreen panels andoised in Regency Gold 2 finish. The project won awards such as CEEQUAL 'Excellent' award, for being an incredible example of sustainable building, and the legacy sustainability award, from the 2015 constructing excellence in the North East (CENE) awards. The building include horizontal and vertical fins spanning out from each floor, created so that the gold anodised fins on the mid points of the panels hang over the floor creating a picture frame effect. We also saved precious site installation time by fitting the fins onto the panels at our manufacturing facility.

Replacement of old stone architectural features with cast stone replicas

As part of the renovation of this attractive period property, we supplied cast stone copings and corbel blocks to replace the original natural stone features which had suffered deterioration over time. There were several challenges to this project, including the need for very accurate colour matching, plus the need to include 'cast-in' lifting inserts to the some of the products due to their considerable weight.

The clients requirements for an asphalt surfacing material was to be visually attractive and in keeping with a site that has won several industry awards for being a best-practice example of intelligent design. It also had to be durable enough to cope with heavy mobile machinery and as a loading area for heavy goods vehicles.

Birkett House Community Special School has been designed and built to cater for the needs of up to 200 students aged between 5 and 19. The new school building design incorporated a large curved mono pitch roof, bespoke fascia and soffit with double tiered hoppers. The design further included a butterfly roof and a considerable quantity of wall copings, along with downpipes and more hoppers.

All floors and staircases were fitted with marble or limestone tiles, the bathrooms were fitted with bookmatched marble panelling and vanity tops, the pool area had limestone tiling, coping and slate tiled walls and the kitchen worksurfaces were a mixture of quartzite and Caesarstone quartz.

The metal gutter to this gymnasium in Eastbourne was corroded and leaking. Liquasil's Gutterseal system was specified because it could easily cope with some unusual protrusions present in the gutter. Heaqvy rust was removed and the surfaces treated with SWT Primer - a marine quality corrosion treatment. Joints were sealed using Non-Sag Sealer, which has 1400% elasticity and then the entire gutter was coated with Liquasil One to provide a flexible, seamless and permanent gutter lining.
