Formica® High Pressure Laminate (HPL) was used at Voyage of Discovery, Selfridges, Oxford Street in London. A number of striking bar furniture pieces clad with HPL were custom made and designed by Studio Toogood using Dusty Jade and Deep Marina from the Formica® Colors range.

The rooftop restaurant, bar, and terrace Yasmin is exclusively available to members and offers a delicious Middle Eastern menu. Meanwhile, Nessa, a playful neighbourhood bistro and bar located on the ground floor, puts an imaginative twist on British classics.

Project:The construction of luxury offices and apartments required a bespoke access solution to the roof.ProductSurespan designed and manufactured a boxed glazed sliding rooflight with a glazed vertical upstand.The sliding lid was operated electrically via concealed 24v DC actuators and a push-button switch. The 35.5mm sealed double glazed unit comprises of Pilkington 6mm toughened K polished all-round outer pane, a 20mm Warm Edge silver spacer bar that is argon filled, and a Pilkington 9.5mm toughened & laminated inner pane. Shangri-La Hotel at The Shard in London is the capital’s highest hotel, in one of the world’s most iconic buildings boasting panoramic skyline views. This elegant hotel features 202 uniquely designed rooms and suites, 4 restaurants and bars, and the highest Infinity Sky Pool in London. Lorient supplied DS acoustic, smoke and fire seals.

The Tytherington is a 4-star hotel and club situated nearby to Manchester airport. The hotel saw the refurbishment of its club and the development of 65 bedrooms, with a bar and tennis court, guests can use the spa, wellness centre, fitness centre, sauna, hot tub, and garden. The new investment sees refurbishment of club facilities including members bars, changing rooms, function rooms, and reception areas. With over 300 onsite car parking spaces, Capesthorne Hall is 7.3 miles from The Tytherington while Fletcher Moss Botanical Gardens is 13 miles away.Cellecta’s ScreedBoard 28 was specified by HPW Architecture Ltd due to it being suitable for all floor types and is frequently viewed as the solution of choice for new build and refurbishment developments. With its interlocking edges for installation convenience, high density, and unique resilient layer it provides unrivalled acoustic performance.J M Scully was awarded this 2,000m² contract to construct this development and refurbishment in Macclesfield.

It’s surprising how simple ambience and a pleasant method to dry one’s hands after visiting the bathroom in a restaurant, bar or workplace can heighten the overall experience of the visit.

Working on the Ground Floor Lobby, First Floor Gym, Level 10 and Level 17, Planet’s southern contracting team provided an extensive range of fire-rated and non-fire rated partition and door solutions to Building D of the Nine Elms development in Battersea.In the Ground Floor Lobby, non-fire rated single-glazed automatic bi-parting sliding doors were installed along with with 3150mm high LOFT20 XL partitions with reeded film. IsoPro doors (40 dB Rw) provided access to co-working spaces and meeting rooms.FireTec Ei30 fire rated doors and LOFT transom bars provided exit route protection on Level 1 in communal areas and on Level 10 along with a FireTec Ei60 window.On Level 17, two FireTec Ei30 double door sets with overhead panels provided access to the indoor lounge area and bar area, while a single LOFT20 screen offered additional natural light passage between the lounge and adjoining demonstration kitchen.

GEC Anderson stainless steel worktops with ultra-thin edge profile and integrated sink were included in this recent residential project in London.The sinktop is 4.8m long and was produced in one, continuous piece and includes sink A50. The opposing island also has the ultra-thin (15mm) edge but incorporates a breakfast bar.Worktops are in EN 1.4301 grade brushed satin stainless steel.

the rooftop bar known as the 'wagtail' is housed atop 68 King William street, a well renowned building in the heart of the square mile. The Raaft support system was used in this instance, to support the Roma Natural tiles giving that light stone appearance. On top of this, positive 'vibes' are the only ambience you're getting from the public enjoying their evening out and taking in the views of the surrounding London skyline.

Stopgap 1200 Pro levelling compound and F46 pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive have led the way in refurbishing floors at Heythrop Park, near Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire, following its acquisition by Warner Leisure Hotels, as part of a four-year, £40 million renovation.Flooring contractors were commissioned to install a range of floorcoverings throughout the site’s public areas, including in the 300-year-old, Grade II-listed manor house, which is set in a 440-acre country estate, as well as the adjoining hotel complex.The project included work in the reception, two ground-floor theatres, bar, restaurant and lounge areas, as well as connecting staircases and corridors, in the modern part of the hotel.Stopgap 1200 Pro high-performance levelling compound was used to raise subfloor levels so that LVT floorcoverings and inlaid carpet would sit perfectly flush with previously installed ceramic tiles, with areas divided by custom-made CAT brass edging strips. Stopgap Micro Rapid fast-setting, fast-drying floor finishing compound was used to address minor subfloor imperfections.Stopgap 1200 Pro was also used to create a perfectly smooth surface for grey loose-lay Forbo Coral carpet tiles in the entranceway of the reception, where heavy-duty made-to-measure Newhay grid entrance well matting was installed.Behind the reception desk, Plusfloor concrete-effect luxury vinyl tiles were installed with Styccobond F46 pressure sensitive adhesive, which provides a high bond strength that increases as it is trafficked, as well as strong initial tack, meaning that tiles or planks won’t move around while working. The indefinite open time offered by the product negates the risk of late placement, another advantage when there’s complex designs and patterns.Contractors installed bespoke Brintons carpet in a small seating area on one side of the reception and in front of the entrances to the larger of the hotel’s two ground-floor theatres and Late Lounge Bar, as well as on the steps and accessibility ramp leading from the reception to the 120m2 area, using a dual bond system. This involved using Styccobond F3 to create a permanent bond between carpet and underlay, with the Styccobond F40 providing a peelable bond between the underlay and subfloor.In the theatre, where guests can enjoy live music, drama and comedy performances, Stopgap 1200 Pro was used to patch repair existing subfloors, including where stanchions had been removed, before installing custom-made dark black and blue Newhay carpet.Bespoke Newhay carpet was also installed in the Late Lounge Theatre, which was also furnished with an Amtico wood-effect LVT dancefloor adhered with Styccobond F46. Styccobond F46 was used to install Harlequin Standfast high-performance vinyl sheet on both of the theatres’ stages.Amtico Signature basketweave, wood-effect LVTs were installed in the Late Lounge Bar up to seating areas with bespoke Newhay carpet and ceramic tiles around the bar, as well as on the steps leading to the Late Lounge Theatre. A feature was created in the centre of the room with a large area of herringbone wood-effect LVTs and a border of Amtico Signature Cirrus Twilight grey planks.Similarly, in the first floor ‘Pub and Kitchen’, Karndean ‘Van Gogh’ salvaged wood-effect LVTs were installed up to the bar area, where a border was created using Karndean ‘riven slate’ grey ‘Knight Tiles’, and areas with tables and chairs, where Alternative Flooring ‘Anywhere Rope’ natural carpet was installed. The LVTs were installed up to ceramic tiles around the bar and seating areas with bespoke Newhay carpet.Plusfloor wood floorcoverings were installed on the main staircase leading from the reception to the first and second floors, extending onto the first floor landing and lounge area, using Styccobond B95.Where there were steps in the areas being renovated, including the main staircase, Stycco Flex rapid-curing, flexible tube adhesive was used to affix custom-made CAT brass stair nosings.

Cambridge Terrace is a row of Grade 1 Listed Regency homes, designed in the early 19th century by John Nash, the architect of Buckingham Palace. The developer aims to convert the properties into a “super mansion” complete with a large underground leisure complex comprising of a pool, bar, cinema, jacuzzi and a car lift from street level to the basement car park. When completed, the new development is expected to be worth £200 million.

Plans were passed in 2012 for the construction of an outstanding hotel in Birmingham city centre. The build was the first in a group of five, four-star hotels planned to open over a period of five years under the Hotel La Tour brand. The 174 – bedroomed luxury hotel was developed at a cost of £24 million and comprises a restaurant, bar with terrace and conference facilities. RCM’s Cemboard was used as a primary sheathing board on the project

Orbis OS200 Vertical Bar Infill Side FixOrbis OS211 Glass Infill Top FixProviding more than 120,000 sq ft, of innovation space for high growth enterprises, this project is situated within Imperial College London’s White City campus. Built by a market leader with specialist expertise in modular buildings, this project demanded a high level of innovation, and a balustrade supplier that delivered on cost, quality, and timescales. The main reception area is dominated by a large feature stair providing access to all floors, and the Orbis balustrades with glass infill achieve a stunning first impression and allow maximum light through the space from the vast glazed roof lights above. Throughout the three core stairs, which are used for general circulation and escape routes, the vertical bar infill panels within the Orbis balustrade was used. This robust modular panel solution is pre-manufactured to speed up installation on site, which was extremely important to the main contractor. Individual stair cores were not closed for extended periods of time, which means greater productivity, less management time, and reduced risk for the main contractor.

This previously draughty corridor was in sore need to refurbishment at this hotel and spa just outside Manchester. Our ThermGard-R rafter glazing bars were ideal for sitting on top of the existing steel rafters and provided a robust glazing method to retain the large double glazed units. Softcoat low-e laminated and toughened glass insulating glass units provide excellent heat retention and being North facing, there was no need for the addition of solar control.

An impressive version pedestrian guardrail using the machine topped ASF 5008 bollard as posts, and solid bar stainless steel vertical infill panels to create the guardrail. This system is made to order, and as such can be set up to host any combination of post and panel or hand railing. Contrasting polish finish can be used on the bollards to show the machined top as more of a feature. Posts can be reinforced to make them ram raid resistant.

To meet the brief, our Project Specification team met with Tapper Interiors to understand the design and performance requirements they required from their new premises. It was agreed that Komfort’s Polar Single Glazed partitioning and double glazed Sonik Doors with the Kross Glaze applied bars would deliver on the aesthetics, but also the performance. These systems were installed on the front reception and meeting rooms.Our Polar Single Glazed system was selected for its proven and reliable performance credentials and ease of installation. In conjunction with this, our double glazed Sonik Doors were installed to enhance acoustic performance levels of up to 38dB (Rw).This style glazing has dominated the commercial and residential market trends over recent months with its contemporary Art Deco feel. To meet the client’s design brief of an industrial style environment, our Kross Glaze bars were applied to both the inside and outside of the Polar Single Glazed partitioning and the Sonik Doors.The end resultThe project was completed to a high specification, meeting performance requirements and design ambitions. This working environment now provides an inspiring space for the occupants and encourages collaboration and productivity levels.It was a pleasure to work with Tapper Interiors and we look forward to working on future projects together.

Architect and design consultants ICA was appointed to design a flexible open plan restaurant and bar area that would reflect the beauty and history of the locality and offer a high quality dining experience for discerning hotel guests as well as local residents and businesses.

Situated in the heart of the City, in the former Midland Bank headquarters, The Ned houses Ned’s Club, a private members’ space, gym and rooftop, alongside a public spa, ten restaurants & bars and 250 hotel bedrooms.Our Fitzroy of London team worked closely with the architect, and designers to ensure that the hotel’s Doc M washroom spaces were in keeping with the hotel’s overall high standard. In this project, Hush Acoustics were tasked with a project in Douglas, the capital of the Isle of Man, to provide a solution for a beautiful mid terraced property recently converted into 4x spacious apartments over four floors.With the apartments located very close to a road, the issues became apparent after spending some time inside, with road traffic noise as well as public background noise clearly heard.Key to resolving the issues was to ensure appropriate acoustic measures were carried out when converting this existing property into apartments, and that the party walls and/or ceilings met the required standards for conversion under the Building Regulations, Approved Document E.Working with Andrew Bentley, the architect and Kevin Cretney of Kinrade Construction, a solution incorporating the following was provided:HD1044 ACOUSTIC BASEMENT SYSTEMThis system has been created with residential properties in mind and is made up of a combination of materials that offer excellent sound reduction within the specified area.The basement system is made up of Hush Slab 100 which is tightly packed within the joists, Hush Deep Resilient Bars, which are fixed horizontally to the underneath of the joists and Hush Multi Panel which is fixed to the underside of the bars. 15mm of Fireline Plasterboard is then used to over board the Multi Panel.HD1041 ACOUSTIC WALL LINING SYSTEMThis system has been thoroughly tested to exceed Building Regulations and our competitor’s wall lining products. It is made up of Hush Multi Panel, the 15mm Fireline which is then installed over, ensuring joints are staggered. The perimeters are sealed using Hush Isolation Tape, as well as our Acoustic Sealant. These boards are then fixed to the Deep Resilient Bars and Hush Slab 25 is fitted in between. The Bars are then fixed horizontally to the wall.The benefits of this system are its high standards of airborne sound reduction, can reduce both flanking and direct sound transmission and creates a minimum loss of space.HD1038 HUSH ACOUSTIC FLOOR SYSTEM MF28This floor system is a highly rated performer and has again been thoroughly tested within areas that require exceptional acoustic control. Made up of Hush Panel 28 which is laid over the chipboard deck and sealed using Hush Seal 20. The Hush MF Ceiling System is then installed to the underside of the joists, to the back of the plasterboard lining. Hush Slab 100 is then installed tightly within the ceiling void. Two layers of plasterboard is then installed to the underside of the MF system and all perimeters sealed with the Hush Acoustic Sealant.Outstanding resultsTests carried out on completion of the acoustic treatment showed immediate results, which completely exceeded the acoustic requirements for conversion within the Building Regulations and also surpassed New Build standards.Chartered Architect, Andrew Bentley, said, "Thank you for all your help and support. I will be happy to use your products again in future."

Longleat Safari Park was looking to create a new restaurant to reflect its spectacular 9000-acre surroundings and withstand the demands of a popular tourist destination. Space Group was selected to design and fit the new restaurant and coffee bar, opting for Karndean Da Vinci Molten, Opus Carbo and a unique combination of Van Gogh Honey Oak, Van Gogh Distressed Oak and Van Gogh French Oak to create a mix and match pattern reminiscent of the natural colouring of Longleat’s residents.

Jaguar Land Rover's site in Solihull is a major operation for the global car manufacturer. The nature of the production and logistics centre means that there is constantly high flow of industrial and domestic vehicle traffic around the building, as well as pedestrians. Brandsafe designed, supplied and installed a range of safety systems to meet the needs of the client, both aesthetically and operationally. The new pedestrian walkway system is a key component of this, with safety barriers and gates, as well as highly visible HGV clatter bars to help protect against vehicle collisions.

The glamorous and newly reopened North Bar can be found on the third floor of the world famous Royal Albert Hall. This light, open and spacious venue offers stunning views over the Albert Memorial – a backdrop which also provided the inspiration for the new Amtico flooring design. The renovation of the 100m2 floor area needed to make impact and create an eye-catching feature so a bespoke pattern was designed. It laid over the top of the original flooring to preserve it and protect from damage.

Sadolin Superdec helped set the tone for a major arts event in Manchester, which featured a vibrant display of colour. The product was used to create the perfect platform for Festival Square, the ‘home in the heart of the city’ for the Manchester International Festival (MIF). Picnic benches, bars and DJ booths which popped up in the vicinity were coated with a range of colours from the Sadolin Superdec range, creating an on-trend backdrop, supporting MIF’s position as one of the world’s most dynamic and respected arts festivals.

Rockfon® Tropic™ ceilings are installed in Europe’s largest car showroom, Sytner BMW, Sheffield. Designed by AT Architects, the three-storey, 18,500m² BMW and Mini dealership can display up to 872 cars. Its impressive facilities are arranged to offer the very best service and convenience in luxurious surroundings. There are customer lounges, which include Europe’s first dedicated M lounge which displays all BMW M models, with a barista serving complimentary refreshments in the bar café.

The Multi-Link-Panel system glazed with Georgian wired polycarbonate from pioneering polycarbonate roofing supplier Twinfix was specified by Network Rail for the entrance canopy element of a £1 million refurbishment of historic Wigan Wallgate station in Lancashire. The glazing panels, each comprising fast-track “fix and link” aluminium structural bars glazed with 6mm solid Georgian wired polycarbonate, were pre-assembled at Twinfix’s factory in Warrington, Cheshire, for delivery to site for installation by specialist contractor Everlast Rail.

ASF Manufactured these stunning stainless steel pedestrian guardrails for the Princess Street area of Swansea.Posts manufactured from the ASF 5008 Bollard offer a 114mm diameter upright with a solid machined top. The upright has a satin finish whilst the top is left as machine finished which gives a bright polished look.Panels are from stainless steel tube and uprights from solid stainless steel bar, making this product look great but also be low maintenance, robust and long lasting.

The main auditorium of the Theatre has been refurbished with 900 new seats, sound desks and lighting systems, as well as the installation of a café, licensed bar and TV gallery. The foyer, studio theatre and entrance areas have been modernised. As part of the project, Gradus was chosen to supply and fit continuity LED step lighting to provide a contemporary linear effect and complement the new modern interior of the theatre. Not only does step lighting add to the design, but it also allows customers and staff to move around safely in darkened lighting conditions.

Providing an ideal location for both work and leisure, Centenary Quay is a short commute from Southampton’s historic city centre and perfectly located within easy reach of a wealth of bars, shops and nearby restaurants to ensure everything you could want is at hand. Effisus Breather FR-B System was used in this amazing development, ensuring the protection of the building against driving rain and moisture preventing future corrosion, insulation deterioration and mould growth at the same time it increases the building energy efficiency and minimizes the condensation risk.

In May 2017, a golden, futuristic style building docked at the heart of Media City in Salford Quays. People in the surrounding areas were intrigued by the unusual and eye-catching structure of the new branch of ‘The Alchemist’ – a trendy bar and restaurant chain from Living Ventures, renowned for its unusual and extravagant cocktails. Designing the surrounding landscaping to complement such an avant-garde building was a challenge. Hardscape reveals how it worked alongside Reid Architects and the Bolton-based construction company, Artez, to supply the best materials for this cutting-edge scheme.
