The client here had a small space that they wanted to use to create a wetroom, wedi liaised directly with the designer and tiler to assist with the products used in the final installation. This includes a wedi "Slim Kit" and wedi "Top" material on the floor as the finished surface. wedi Top was utilised to keep the whole build-up as slim as possible as it offers anti-slip and mould resistance in a mere 6mm thickness without the need for grout lines and cleaning that you would have with a traditional tile.

In this particularly narrow washroom layout, the Unity, full height,inline cubicle design served as a space saver. Accessed with doors on the side, rather than face on, the walls absorb the depth of the cubicle, maintaining a spacious environment.
The finished washroom boasted a fresh, contemporary space which met all initial requirements. The client was particularly pleased with “the sleek look of everything”.

A recent project of the Berkeley Group, the Kingston Gas Works with 240 apartments called for a special solution due to the maximum construction height available for the shower being only 100mm including tray and drainage. All showers were constructed with XPS integrated shower elements (wedi Fundo Integro), which are only 90mm thick including the integrated DN50 drainage. Despite the low construction height, the specified solution offers no compromise on the flow rate of the drainage. This £21 Million project involved partial demolition, refurbishment and extension of the existing East Wing of the Student’s Union to create a spacious, modern and accessible mixed-use building.
The stunning design by Shepheard Epstein Hunter, features a spectacular façade to the four-storey extension which fronts directly onto the University’s central square.
Created using Senior’s thermally enhanced SF52 silicon glazed and fully capped curtain walling, with the innovative patented PURe® aluminium opening vents, the façade gives a light and spacious feeling to all four floors. Curved glazing and perforated panels add to the dramatic appearance.

The new Brookfield Business School 7-acre Campus brings together a sympathetically restored, 19th century mansion with a new three-storey three-gabled, copper clad extension and elliptical lecture theatre.
Senior’s slim profile SF52 thermally enhanced curtain walling and SPW600 Windows were used throughout the extension to create a comfortable, light and airy environment. For the main entrances, Senior’s robust SPW501 Commercial Doors provide both security and longevity for these high traffic areas.
This was a complex project which required precision, close co-operation between all sub-contractors and 3D BIM modelling to ensure co-ordination of all the elements involved.

The studio houses luxury kitchens for high-end projects, offering consultations and design services for clients across London and surrounding areas.THE CHALLENGETo match the design used in the remodeling each patio awning needed to be the same colour and be as discrete as possible once closed to match the buildings facade.THE SOLUTIONThe Weinor N2000 patio awning was chosen due to the fact it could be recessed into the building facade, and because it’s angular design lent itself well to the aesthetic of the shopfront. The project required two awnings with widths of 4400mm and 3500mm, and matching projections of 1500mm. The finish was anthracite with a dark grey fabric colour which matched the studios branding and overall impression of the building.

Although only a small part of the building, industrial doors cause the biggest problems if they are not designed with the environment and usage in mind. The solution As a British manufacturer, Hart provides Komatsu with a first-class service, offering support and parts when required and due to the reliability of the doors, maintaining the safe, efficient running of the facility. Each Hart door is made to measure and each safety device and activator is fitted to suit specific areas, giving Komatsu a safe and secure working environment for its employees The success Komatsu and Hart began their relationship in the 80’s with the installation of one of Harts earliest prototype Speedors. Due to the success of the door, 4 Speedors and 4 roller shutters were installed in 1992. Over the years, Hart has installed over 60 doors to the facility, only recently replacing some of the original doors installed in 1992. Although initially a social housing provider, Orbit now refers to itself as a “developing housing association”, and Fordham House was designed for private rental by key workers in the town.Providing enhanced protection against noise and boasting a superior maintenance and repair strategy, much of the budget for these above-and-beyond features came from the specification of Modus windows in place of the aluminium frames originally specified.

Warwick Manufacturing Group were awarded £10 million to build the WMG Degree apprenticeship centre at the University of Warwick, which opened in 2019.The 3 storey, 2,400m2 apprenticeship centre sits at the heart of the campus and provides a bridge from education to industry.Brett Martin supplied a striking Glass Link rooflight overlooking the central corridor of the extensive open plan break out area. This consisted of one long run of 12 fixed modules glazed with 2 glass panes per module of grey anti-sun glass. Glass Link was selected due to the self-supporting span capabilities of the product as it needed to span 3800mm.The WMG Degree Apprenticeship Centre provides apprentices with the opportunity to study on degree programmes to develop the skills needed by advanced engineering and manufacturing companies in conjunction with employment at companies throughout Coventry, Warwickshire and the West Midlands.

Metrotile Lightweight Roofing’s classic ‘Roman’ profile adorns the rooftops of a five building renovation ‘pilot’ project at Davis Road, DoncasterEach of the buildings is a prefabricated Hawksley Bungalow and has been modified throughout the yearsTo bring the homes up to ‘Decent Home’ standards, two major changes were made to the building’s exteriors. The first was a brick ‘skin wall’, that was built around the metal walls of the homes (adding a layer of insulation in the process). The other major alteration was that of a new roof in the form of a Metrotile lightweight tile system providing swift installation, traditional aesthetics and a low weight to reduce the load on the Hawksley Bungalow’s structure.

A three year construction project in Knightsbridge required a temporary green roof on welfare huts.
The local residents were concerned about overlooking these steel huts long-term.
The solution is M-Tray® – our modular green roof system.
The steel huts were wheeled into position on site on skates. They were covered with an EPDM waterproofing membrane. M-Tray® units were installed. They were easily carried up the stairs by hand and installed by hand within minutes.
The modular and portable M-Tray® can just be unclicked and lifted away upon completion of the construction process.

The waterproofing system had to be monolithic, fully adhered to prevent water tracking during and post construction, robust, durable and capable of withstanding construction-related traffic without defect.SolutionsCareful design consideration was provided to ensure Axter’s driving philosophy of the right system in the right place was employed successfully. The design, supply and installation of Wilotekt-Plus, unique second generation hot melt structural waterproofing system, provided 30% quicker on site installation speeds than traditional first generation hot melt systems. This ensured the waterproofing was completed swiftly, which enabled landscaping finishes to be installed within deadline.Wilotekt-Plus also fulfilled the requirement for a system that was adaptable through its approved application beneath a variety of roof finishes including ballast, decorative paving and living roofs, so as to facilitate the achievement of interesting visual aesthetics, enhancing built environment and life experience of its residents.

Project BackgroundDesigned by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Zaha Hadid in 2004, before London won the bid for the 2012 Summer Olympics, the London Aquatics Centre is an indoor facility with two 50-metre (160-foot) swimming pools and a 25-metre (82-foot) diving pool. Its iconic wave-like roof sweeps up from the ground and was inspired by the fluid geometry of water in motion, creating spaces and a surrounding environment in sympathy with the river landscape of the Olympic Park.Project SolutionPowrmatic Wall Opensky louvred ventilators were at the heart of the smoke and natural ventilation system at the London Aquatic centre in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, east London. The ventilation systems were designed and installed by Air Design Systems Ltd.The wall mounted Opensky louvred ventilators are used to provide a high-free area at the back of the stands for heat exhaust and smoke extract. The units were double-stacked and provided with a white polyester powder-coated finish.Air Design Systems Ltd also made provision for the control system that included local control panels, electrical wiring, override switches and full commissioning and demonstration of the system.Project ResultTested for use as smoke ventilators to BS EN 12101-2, Powrmatic’s Opensky ventilators can be roof or wall mounted for exhaust or inlet and can be supplied with a hinged base for use as an access hatch. They have been specifically designed for both smoke and heat exhaust and natural ventilation applications and combine an attractive style with a discreet, low profile.
