Space was at a premium in this compact office building, so the self-contained superloos offered the ideal solution without compromising on design. Each individual toilet cubicle includes a WC plus vanity and hand-drying facilities. Washroom's Concerto duct panels are available in wide range of different materials and finishes and here the duct panels were faced with a pale Limed Oak veneer to match the bespoke shelving above each vanity. Its Forza solid grade laminate lockers with secure digital access code locks were manufactured with a Z-style configuration with metallic effect doors and large stylistic black printed numbers.

Bespoke ‘Deep Night Sky’ Corian trough vanities and Diamond Black Formica laminate full height Alto toilet cubicle doors combine to create a sophisticated washroom space perfect for International construction services company ISG’s flagship London head office. The solid surface construction of Corian means the striking colour runs consistently all the way through for a perfectly neat and unified appearance, creating an attractive, hygienic finish. Washroom’s Tego hinged access mirrors, manufactured with bespoke curved edges and LED back-lights, were installed above the vanities, providing a practical storage solution for essential washroom consumables.

Washroom's off-site service allowed the design to be carefully fine-tuned prior to installation on site for this prestigious office refurbishment project. Washroom's full height Alto toilet cubicle doors were specified with a real wood veneer finish, stained to match the solid Douglas fir timber panelling in the reception area. The bespoke polished cast concrete vanity units feature integral waste bins and Tego hinged mirror units above. For the new staff shower and changing room area Washroom's full height Alto FENIX shower cubicles were installed along with Z style Forza SGL lockers.

Our colourful Luminoso glass shower and toilet cubicles combine to create an energising shower and changing area for a new gym in the heart of London’s Victoria. The vibrant shower and changing rooms at Gymbox in Victoria feature our Luminoso glass shower and toilet cubicles, back-painted in a striking mix of bright oranges, reds and yellows to complement the bold tiling design. The cubicles feature high specification 10mm clear float toughened glass doors, partitions and division panels. We also installed floating Corian trough style vanity units with wall mounted taps and soap dispensers in the changing room area.

We created these unique washrooms and changing areas including cubicles for users of all ages, for a luxury London family-focussed health club, part of the Third Space chain. The bespoke family changing area features large full-height unisex changing cubicles in white plus integral benching together with its popular Luminoso glass shower cubicles. The Luminoso range is available in a wide range of different colours, with a deep blue colour used for this project. In the washroom areas, Washroom installed its Marcato toilet cubicles plus the colourful fun Frutti cubicles with reduced height doors for younger users.

Erskine House was selected as Northern Ireland’s only CivicTrustAward regional finalist in 2021 and is located on Chichester Street, one of Belfast’s oldest and busiest thoroughfares. The building delivers 10,000 sqm of office space with retail on the ground floor. The scheme is completed with a two storey glazed penthouse using a combination of accentuated feature caps and structural flush glazed sections offering views across the city.The Aluprof systems were fabricated and installed by Walsin Limited and consisted of Aluprof's MB-SR50N capped system and MB-SR50N EFEKT capless structural glazing systems with Aluprofs MB-86 doors. The finish externally on the systems is Powder Coating.

Demanding Regulation standards and the sheer scale of a residential housing project like East London's New Garden Quarter, have seen us here at TECHNAL and installer Ravenworth work together to deliver the £4.2m scope of work for Telford Homes. This includes windows, patio and entrance doors as well as curtain walling. New Garden Quarter is part of a masterplan development and takes in some of the Olympic Legacy land in Stratford. The development, which sits next to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, features one, two and three-bedroom apartments, villas and sky villas set around a landscaped two-acre garden square.

Washroom designed and installed unisex Superloos within a new shared workspace building. Each self-contained cubicle includes a toilet, vanity unit and hand drying facilities behind a full height cubicle door and are an excellent solution for an office where space is at a premium. Washroom's Concerto duct panelling, faced with shiny black brushed metallic effect high pressure laminate, was installed behind the toilets and underneath the sinks in each superloo cubicle. The vanities are manufactured from white Corian, set on a bespoke black metallic framework which also includes additional storage underneath as well as an inset waste bin.

Fleet Street in the City of London has long been known as the historic home of the British press. Number 53 is a Victorian terrace, with a striking front tiled facade. Thornsett Group, working with architects Capital Architecture, has recently converted the property into five luxury residences, plus ground floor retail space. We were appointed to design, supply and install 26 traditional box sash windows for the main elevation, with an acoustic performance of 45 dB Rw. For the rear of the property we provided 24 inward-opening timber tilt and turn windows, plus lift and slide patio doors.

The Television Centre transforms the existing BBC Television centre into a mixed-use development that combines office/studio space for the BBC, entertainment and leisure facilities, housing, a hotel and office space, alongside public open spaces. Working with Gillespies and Maylim, we were commissioned to supply and install Cumaru benches and seating areas with bespoke metal work including hand rails and arm rests (designed by our in-house team) to the refurbished Helios Plaza area. In the famous external forecourt, perfectly spaced FSC Cumaru cladded doors were installed to the services/access and general storage area, for a seamless look.

To provide optimum weather and thermal performance and to maximise the building’s energy efficiency, ADP Architecture specified a range of aluminium products from Kawneer, installed by approved specialist subcontractor Norman & Underwood. The building’s façade features Kawneer’s AA®100 curtain wall system while AA®190 TB severe-duty doors were specified to handle the high volume of people entering and leaving the building. These were complemented by Kawneer’s AA®720 casement windows with louvreshields which provide both ventilation and fall protection. As the construction is a gateway to the city’s commercial area, the aesthetics were also paramount.

As a stunning answer to the Royal Danish Opera House across the water, the Royal Danish Playhouse sits in a prominent location on Copenhagen’s harbour front. Its structure is about the interplay between three compositional elements: an oak-clad promenade standing above the water; a brick stage building and copper-clad tower; and the green glass of the building’s overhanging first floor, which gives the actors and production team spectacular views.For this striking building’s high-traffic toilet facilities, d line products play a reliable supporting role to a dramatic black interior punctuated by lipstick-red doors and bulbed, dressing room-style mirrors.

Designed by world famous architects Foster + Partners, 200 Gray’s Inn Road was built for ITN in 1990 as its headquarters and broadcasting hub. The iconic building, owned by The Great Ropemaker Partnership, now provides high quality offices and TV studio space for multiple tenants including ITN, ITV and Channel 4. At Fishguard Primary School HEWI provided a safe environment for the children whilst blending aesthetically with the theme of the building. Coloured polyamide was chosen for the main staircase with clear safety glass infll, soft touch door handles where used throughout. Externally, Circum satin finish grade 316 stainless steel was chosen for all areas, including access ramps and steps from the car park, with post mounted handrails and perforated stainless steel infll. Safety glass panels, in clear and 5 differing colours was used on a balcony. Matching perforated stainless steel infll panels were incorporated on stairs.

EKU Porta Glass – specified as the all-glass sliding door system for the five-star Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi. The building is in the Guinness Book of World Records due to its 18 degrees plus incline. With its impressive design Capital Gate is home to Abu Dhabi’s premium business hotel – Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi, EKU Porta Glass promotes the aesthetic appeal of the hotel rooms and suites. Due to its completely concealed sliding system, EKU Porta Glass itself meets the highest demands in terms of design and technology and allows for a highly valuable and creative room division.

EKU Porta Glass – The visual impact and outstanding quality of the all-glass sliding door solution highlights the aesthetics of the Vienna Twin Towers designed by Massimiliano Fuksas. The tallest building showcases the business park Wienerberg. The Massimiliano Fuksas designed Twin Towers impress with their transparent construction of steel and glass and fulfil even the highest demands of visual appeal. The visual impact continues inside the building. For international media company MediaCom, Vienna architect Karl Langer created a flexible, open concept and transparent office space to meet the company’s innovative, dynamic and future focused approach using EKU Porta Glass.

Metal Technology has contributed to achieving the desired aesthetic for the flagship Leeds College of Building Campus designed by Fuse (Leeds). The scheme utilised Metal Technology’s System 17 High Rise capped curtain walling and incorporated manual and automatic 4-20Hi+ casement opening vents. System 5-20D Hi+ doors completed the range of products used. These systems combined to deliver complete design flexibility, achieving not only a very high level of thermal performance, but also exceptional structural, security and acoustic performance. All Metal Technology systems comply with the latest British Standards and are Secured by Design certified.

Sheffield Hallam University’s new three-floor, purpose-built teaching facility, the Heart of the Campus Building, is another eye-catching addition to this burgeoning northern university. Planet Partitioning used p100 double glazing to glaze around 50 room frontages, including seminar and study rooms, installing IsoClear single glass doors throughout to ensure excellent acoustic performance. This involved using a minimum framework to help create a modern, contemporary look and feel. Planet Partitioning also installed large angular atrium glass screens on the top floor of the communal area to form an impressive 50-metre long ‘U’ shape.

BAM construction approached Planet to supply and install interior glass partitioning as part of a Category B fit-out of Network Rail's new HQ. To ensure outstanding sound attenuation, we fitted p100 double glazed partitioning and IsoClear glass doors. To ensure time and cost efficiency, our design team worked with BAM and GMW Architects to ensure the right choice of standard deflection heads and allow for +/- 25mm movement rather than designing and manufacturing a multitude of bespoke deflection heads. We also installed p20 single glazed demountable partitioning for a range if brightly coloured 'eco cabins' dotted throughout the building.

A holistic business solution, which offers various possibilities to work, meet, connect and enjoy the time spent with partners, employees and clients sharing the passion of good wine. The inside of the building features approximately 130 m2 of various Contraflam glass solutions, which ensure maximum fire safety while emphasizing the architectural design. The round shaped partition walls connecting production and meeting rooms, in particular, were a great challenge for glazed fire-resistance. The fire doors were developed and produced in collaboration with Forster Profile Systems and provided the necessary accessibility while ensuring fire safety for up to 30 minutes.

Project:Architects Foster + Partners approached Surespan to design and manufacture two roof hatches for Circle Hospital Bath – the new centre of clinical excellence due to open in late 2009. Product:The huge single-leaf glazed roof hatches are electrically operated by push button switches, one hatch incorporating a side door. The high spec glazed lid is supported by heavy-duty aluminium hinges and features an integral ‘wrap over’ edge, incorporating double unbroken EPDM seals. The hatches offer a high level of thermal insulation against heat loss and condensation, together with excellent sound absorption properties.

For the basement laboratories, Planet used p100 demountable double-glazed full-height partitions with two layers of 15mm toughened glass to reach heights in excess of three metres. The partitioning framework was set within the steel grid structure, ensuring an industrial look and incorporating slimline single-glazed and SonoTec double glazed doors with integrated venetian blinds. Planet provided a full blackout option for lab work on sensitive ancient human remains. Planet AG was responsible for the full-height atrium glazing, using 19.5mm toughened laminated glass. It required carefully spaced holes for securing attenuators that control airflow within the building.

The result is an attractive and thermally-efficient loft ladder that is perfectly suited for residential/domestic applications. A temple in Chorley has recently had Nuway Tuftiguard Classic in 17mm closed construction installed by the Northern team at Master Matting. As Nuway is ideal for entrance areas of all shapes and sizes, it was perfect for the design of the architecturally striking building. With three points of access, each with their own set of revolving doors, the rigid entrance flooring system will help to stop the outside from travelling in.Due to the busy nature of the temple, removing soil from soles of shoes and wheel treads was essential in providing accidental slips and protecting interior floor surfaces. Nuway Tuftiguard classic is also reversible, which effectively doubles the lifespan of the entrance flooring.

This mixed use development on the southern fringes of the Olympic Park utilised the Nexus® system to achieve flawless brick-faced soffits to the hundreds of door and window heads. Nexus is a two-part brick soffit system that combine a high integrity stainless steel brickwork support system with custom-designed prefabricated brick faced soffit units. Being 70% lighter than traditional cast concrete solutions, the Nexus soffit system is simply lifted and bolted into position by hand and, as the brick slip facing is manufactured from the same batch as the main brickwork, presents a perfect colour and texture match for flawless transitions.

The Skelbrooke Ward is a psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) at the Doncaster Adult Mental Health Unit; providing specialised care for people experiencing acute mental ill health. In early 2020, the Skelbrooke Ward underwent a major refurbishment to modernise the environment and introduce new technology to work alongside clinical practices. Patient care and recovery were at the forefront of plans for the refurbishment of the Skelbrooke Ward. Our electronic integrated override locks allow patients to move freely between rooms where access is permitted; whilst the load release en-suite doors carefully consider privacy and dignity without compromising on safety.

When the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) were looking to move into their new Head Office, just off Princess Street in the heart of Edinburgh, Michael Laird Architects asked Planet Partitioning to put together a specification for the Category B fit-out of the existing building. Working closely with Souness & Boyne, Planet Partitioning used p100 frameless double glazing system throughout to create meeting rooms and offices with high acoustic performance, in a simple grey design. The eight-week job also involved installing minimal framework double glazed doors throughout the offices, to complement the p100 double glazed partitions.

Specified by Dundee-based fabrication company Lam-Art, 700m2 of durable Polyrey compact solid grade laminate in a variety of complementary colourways now covers the cubicle and locker areas at Montrose. Grey M001 Maryland Clair can be found adorning the ends of the locker units, with its contemporary grey mineral finish creating a striking contrast with the dark blue C018 Chardon and light blue B048 Bleu Oslo laminates that now cover the cubicle and locker doors. Two grey shades, G028 Gris Flanelle and G003 Gris Perle, were chosen for the cubicle compartments and provide a toned-down look.

Having opened its first UK store in Birmingham in 1990, Aldi has grown to over 800 stores nationwide. The supermarket chain has opened a new ‘local’ in Camden and converted a further 6 stores to the ‘local’ format. For its newest ‘Local’, Aldi specified INTRAflow Plus with hard wearing ribbed rubber and INTRAlux Elite inserts in anthracite to provide a flexible, durable, yet cost effective solution. INTRAflow Plus can be used in both Zone 1 external and Zone 2 internal areas, making it a perfect choice for busy supermarkets with automatic doors that frequently open to the elements.

The Event Complex Aberdeen (TECA) – renamed P&J Live as part of a five-year rights deal with Scotland’s preeminent publisher, DC Thompson – officially opened its doors in Summer 2019. Offering 48,000 square metres of multi-purpose event space, the £333 million high-tech development next to Aberdeen International Airport is the UK’s single largest investment of its kind and just one of many happening across the growing city. On display since 1995, it has attracted more than 47 million visitors in over 130 different cities across America, Africa, Asia and Europe. With its worldwide popularity and central London location, the venue expects significant annual footfall which means a robust entrance matting system is essential to maintain the safety and aesthetics of the reception. To combat dirt and moisture at the door, our flagship INTRAflex XT Entrance Matting system was combined with the popular INTRAlux Elite Anthracite 607 Fibre insert.

Delivering privacy between the design office and meeting room of leading toy and games specialist, John Adams, Style has installed a chic moveable wall system that combines three glass panels with a single solid panel and solid inset pass door. The DORMA semi-automatic sliding partition allows natural light into the divided space whilst still offering 47dB Rw acoustic rating, for excellent privacy when required. Staff at John Adams can quickly and easily slide the panels into place, whereupon substantial rubber seals automatically expand to form the optimum acoustic barrier, every time.

To complete the contemporary professional environment that Mills & Reeve wanted, Komfort’s Sonik Slide double glazed sliding doors were installed to all the meeting rooms. The Sonik collection provides enhanced acoustic performance whilst also creating an open-plan modern feel. For the stunning fully glazed atrium, which stretched above the ground floor restaurant, Komfort’s Polar single glazing was used. Polar single glazed is designed with a minimum number of components, and thus facilitates the speed of erection without compromising structural stability and rigidity. Polar single glazing was also used on the office fronts with timber doorframes.

An architectural marvel located in an area of the capital rich with history.In the centre of one of the most famous cities in the world and a stone’s throw away from the prestigious St Paul’s Cathedral – the commercial entrance matting at Newgate Street had to be as eye-catching as the location it sits in. We were specified early on for this project – working closely with SDS Matting who are familiar with our market-leading capabilities. For this design, incorporating the alternating narrow stone strips was a priority feature for the client – a challenge, but end results like this are always worth the effort.Two products, one Elite solutionThis creative execution called for a combination of two innovative products. For the revolving doors (where foot traffic is always heavily concentrated) INTRAflex XT with Elite fibre inserts was specified to deal with most of the dirt and moisture. As one of our most popular products, INTRAflex XT offers optimum durability, performance and aesthetics. For the strip style beyond the revolving doors, INTRAflex SP achieves the striking finished effect you can see in the photographs.The strips of INTRAflex SP are inset into the terrazzo tiles following the direction of travel. As most Entrance Matting Systems are set perpendicular to the direction of travel, this particular design was a great opportunity for SDS Matting to demonstrate their expertise. Laying the matting perfectly to line up with the entrance matting surrounding the revolving doors was one of the big success stories of this project.The INTRAlux Elite black fibre inserts used at Newgate Street contain a monofilament scraper element to remove dirt effectively and, in the classic black colourway, play into the colour scheme perfectly to complement the architect’s overall foyer design intent.Moving in a new directionQuality was a high priority for this project. The added element of laying the matting in the direction of travel called for a matting product that could be installed with ease.
