South Lawns Hotel is an iconic hotel located on a Green Belt site. An additional 25 bedroom extension was constructed for this development, set on a brick plinth, clad in dark boarding, to emulate agricultural York boarding, with a low-profile aluminium roof. The design and materials proposed minimised its visual impact on views across the Forest landscape nearby and contrasted with the white render of the existing building.Cellecta’s DECKfon Batten 70 was specified by Boyle and Summers as they have been rigorously tested and are robust detail complaint for steel, concrete and timber separating floor applications. The battens consist of a layer of recycled, low resonance, open cell, flexible polyurethane foam bonded to an FSC/PEFC certified timber batten.Tuakana was awarded this 1,050m² contract for this development in Milford-on-sea.

Sirius is an office block converted to apartments in Coventry city centre. The existing building on Ironmonger Row is being transformed into an architectural gem. The project will see two storeys added while the existing brick fins on the mid-century building will be clad in a bronze-coloured metal. There will be 28 one-bedroom apartments and eight two-bedroom duplex apartments on the top two floors, overlooking the adjacent square.Cellecta’s DECKfon Batten 70 was specified by EDG Property. The battens consist of a layer of recycled, low resonance, open cell, flexible polyurethane foam bonded to an FSC/PEFC certified timber batten. These battens have been rigorously tested and are ideal for various sub floors, making DECKfon Batten 70 the best solution for this project.EDG Build was awarded this 1,800m² contract to construct this redevelopment.

Designed using sustainably sourced timbers, the floating pavilion gives diners at Hawksmoor a place to eat and drink outdoors, while creating a distinctive new social space that connects people closely to the water. Furnitubes were commissioned by Glenn Howells Architects to provide landscaping features to the floating pavilions.Nine bespoke timber loungers made from our triple-processed steel with sustainable cumara timbers that were designed and placed horizontally to match the pavilion decking, making for a striking contrast. The pavilion seating is completed by several bespoke high beam benches with underseat lighting. Other features included steel housing to the life buoys and planters with coordinating timber cladding.The pavilion not only creates a welcoming and luxurious space, but also a popular photo backdrop particularly during the summer months.

This 6,500m² metal roof at Axcess 10 Business Park, Walsall was soiled, delaminating and affected by spot corrosion in numerous areas, which would have eventually spread and perforated the sheets if a treatment was not applied.Bosworth Cladding Services Ltd ensured that the roof was cleaned and the peeling factory finish was removed with a 4000 psi pressure washer. Belmond Cadogan, one of London’s most storied hotels, has been setting the city’s standard for modern indulgence since it re-opened after a four-year renovation in March 2019.As impressive as it is comfortable, the hotel is as much an elegant retreat for luxury travellers as it is a ‘home away from home’ for locals. The building’s period details were preserved and used as the inspiration for much of the hotel’s design, whilst contemporary art and design elements bring the hotel into the 21st century.Bathrooms are marble clad and sumptuous, designed to be spaces in which guests can retreat at the end of day or prepare for the night ahead. CHALLENGEAs part of a full exterior refurbishment, building envelope contractor, Alumet, required a new façade system that would transform and modernise the exterior of the Jubilee House building, which was originally installed in the early 1970s. Coupled with this was the requirement to improve thermal and energy efficiencies.SOLUTIONKnauf Insulation supplied its Rocksilk® RainScreen Slab to ensure optimal fire, thermal and acoustic performance. The key to Knauf Insulation securing the project was the ability to provide in depth technical support, including complex 3D heat flow modelling calculations which took into account the specific system brackets, which act as a significant cold bridge within rainscreen cladding systems.Knauf Insulation’s Rocksilk® RainScreen Slab was installed on the brick facade of the existing building, which once complete, significantly improved the U-value thus reducing the heat loss through the wall.The insulation layer is a fundamental component of any successful rainscreen cladding system and mineral wool insulation delivers a number of advantages for this type of application. Rocksilk® RainScreen Slab is a Rock Mineral Wool slab containing a water repellent additive, designed for use on masonry wall constructions and as the outer insulation layer in steel frame projects.Quick and easy to install, the product is simple to cut and the slabs knit together to create a snug fit, with no need to tape the joints as may be required with rigid foam boards – ensuring maximum acoustic and thermal performance."We wanted to turn our headquarters into a thermally efficient building and to really project a modern ‘green’ image. Providing the solution for EWI retrofit on non-traditional build housingHaving successfully completing the previous 2 phases, K Systems were approached to provide a specification for EWI installation onto two non-traditional build housing types: 5M and Caspon. Both archetypes are of timber frame construction with single skin brick infills at ground level and a mixture of hanging tiles or cladding on upper floors. Typical of non-traditional build housing, the technical team at K Systems had to pay particular attention to bespoke detailing to derive a suitable EWI solution to meet the client’s requirements.The hanging tiles and cladding were removed from the upper floor(s) and replaced with timber sheathing boards to allow for a uniform aesthetic and a striking contemporary finish.Delivering a robust, safe and aesthetic system solution to meet the project requirementsHull City Council wanted to improve the thermal efficiency of their housing stock whilst provide a durable and more contemporary aesthetic look for the project. A combination of K Systems M Silicone and K Systems M VBriQ was used to achieve a u-value of 0.28 using varying thicknesses of A1 non-combustible mineral wool (80mm to 150mm) to adapt to the variety of substrates typical of non-traditional build housing. The combination of acrylic brick slips and polymer enhanced silicone topcoats achieved an appearance that is durable and elevated the dated look of the estate to a more modern feel. Our team worked extensively with the appointed architect preparing bespoke detailed drawings for the various archetypes, particularly transitions between the brick and timber substrates, cills, verges, rooflines, gas boxes and below DPC. Weekly demand planning meetings ensured timely delivery of materials to the appointed contractor.We ensured the correct fixings were specifiedK Systems commissioned pull-out tests to determine the optimum fixings and washers to be used to anchor the EWI system to the different substrates. A combination of hammer fixings and screw fixings were specified.

The Challenge Modern paving was required for community-based retail developmentSuperValu invested €12m in a 15,200 square foot store in Dunboyne, Co Meath. The location of the retail development has great significance to the local community, having previously served as the local GAA grounds.  Extending its current product offering, the new scheme also aims to become a local community hub. The design champions a community ethos with the inclusion of a large open outdoor space. The open plan space offers flexibility for market stalls or event structures. The new development has incorporated four adjacent units, office accommodation and a café. The new state-of-the-art retail hub required high quality paving that would complement the grey brick and granite cladding of the building. The main entrance and pedestrian walkways needed to fulfil the hard landscape design aspirations.  The Solution Tobermore’s Fusion and Manhattan perfectly complement the retail hub  Tobermore presented hard landscaping options to complement the new state-of-the-art retail development. Fusion and Manhattan block paving were the perfect choice to blend with the grey brick and granite cladding building.  Laid in alternating bands, the striking granite aggregate finish of the paving responds to the staggered elevations of the building. Linear paver Manhattan was used for areas of the main walkways in mixed sizes with smaller units of Fusion laid either side. The three-colour mix of grey tones in a stretcher bond laying pattern adds character and visual appeal to the central plaza.  The grey tones do not follow a particular sequence and the linear bands do not adhere to fixed widths. The intention was to achieve a certain randomness that feels natural and softens contrast. The range of unit sizes and colours of Fusion and Manhattan helped create this vision.  Tobermore’s Fusion kerb added the finishing touch to the project with its striking granite aesthetic as a border surrounding the soft landscaping in the central plaza.   

Artform Urban and the Bailey Street Furniture Group continue their ongoing partnership with contractors Renaker who have, over recent years, single-handedly transformed the Manchester City Centre Skyline. Following their collaboration with furnishing the roof terraces at the now-iconic Deansgate Square and Crown Street buildings, Artform has provided an array of high-quality external furniture for the Canalside terrace at Castle Wharf.Castle Wharf is the epitome of boutique waterside living.Castle Wharf is a modern and contemporary development of 188 apartments and penthouses in the heart of the Castlefield Conservations in Manchester's city center.The Building is designed by OMI Architects and reflects the area’s industrial heritage. Inside features high-end amenities; a gymnasium, spa, and lounge spaces.The exterior terrace has been designed by TPM Landscape and features sandstone to mimic the sandstone outcrops that are visible in the Castlefield Basin. To coordinate with this distinct colour pallet and style, Artform has provided a package of complementary street furniture elements. Large aged oak beams mounted on steel frames, as well as inset into the sandstone planter walls, create a plethora of seating options for dining and socialising. Bar stools, benches, and tables - as seen at Deansgate Square and Crown Street have been selected here. The range combines a minimal aluminium frame and hardwood clad toppers to create durable, stylish and lightweight products that offer ease of manoeuvrability and longevity.Finally, the popular Spencer litter bin clad in premium quality hardwood timbers have been placed around the terrace as well as the entrance to the building. The Spencer litter bin is a versatile design available in a variety of materials sizes and shapes - here the quality timbers harmonise alongside the sandstone. An architect-designed 1970s house in South Yorkshire was given a modern makeover using Cedral Click in Slate Grey.Roger Mills and his family moved into their 5-bedroom bungalow in 1988.“We were very happy with it, apart from its external appearance which was becoming very dated and dilapidated,” says Roger.They considered replacing the exterior cladding with a similar type of tile but worried that vertical tiling wouldn’t give them the quality, contemporary look they wanted. Fortunately, their nephew had just replaced his cladding with Cedral facades and the Mills family, impressed with the results, realised this was just what they were looking for.The fact the building was in the Ranmoor Conservation area could have posed a problem and initially the Mills’ faced some challenges from the local authority planning office. Fortunately, as Cedral facades have been used successfully in other conservation areas, the project was passed.Smooth-finish Cedral Click in contemporary Slate Grey gave the tired looking house a new lease of life – “people now mistake it for a new build,” says Roger.He’s also made his neighbours very happy. “They’re delighted because it has considerably improved the appearance of the house and that helps to lift the class of the houses on the road.”The return on investment has been substantial. In fact, the renovation has actually increased the value of the house by more than the cost, reveals Roger. And installing insulation under the Cedral boards will reduce the family’s energy spend, he confirms.“The project was a big success and I would definitely recommend Cedral to anybody experiencing the same issues we did. The material is very high quality, and the house looks significantly more attractive and modern.” Roger also recommends using one of Cedral’s recognised installers for the job. “This is a product that benefits from having an expert who is familiar with the fitting requirements to fit it.”

THE PROJECTSymons House is a unique student amenities project nestled within the Symons House student accommodation building in Leeds. London and Scottish Student Housing (LSSH) joined forces with award-winning interior design company, 74, to create something truly special.The interior design of Symons House reflects the architecture of the building, with an overarching 1930s theme including brushed brickwork and bronzed metal framework. Created with students firmly in mind, the full amenity space includes a study lounge, library, cinema, games room, communal kitchen, bathroom, gym, and private dining room.The brief for this project was to create a sophisticated, grown-up space which is a stylish change from the traditionally bright and primary-colour-saturated student buildings found elsewhere.THE MAILBOXESThe Symons House project features two banks of freestanding, standard steel H1 mailboxes in the spacious lobby of the building. One bank contains 120 mailboxes, 10 high x 12 wide, and the other bank contains 240 mailboxes which are also 10 high x 12 wide but are back-to-back. This bank acts as a focal point in the heart of the reception lobby area.The mailboxes are in front / out front horizontal products that are freestanding and rest on table supports. These supports ensure that the mailboxes do not need to be mounted or recessed into a wall.As always, we offer a range of options to ensure that the table supports meet the customer needs. They can be polyester powder coated to match the design of the mailboxes or can be clad to create a feature point.The table supports for Symons House were specifically designed to suit the sophisticated theme. The industrial, boxy, aluminium welded legs were powder coated to match the matt black cladding of the mailboxes, creating an overall sleek finish.Working with the stylish interior design theme, the mailboxes have bronze powder-coated doors in a high-end IGP finish which are encapsulated within the matt black body of the mailbox.

Falco recently took to the design, manufacture, supply and installation of a bespoke cycle hub based on the traditional FalcoLok-500 design. Installed at Anson House, south Westminster, in view of the River Thames, the new cycle hub has been coupled with the FalcoVert-Pro cycle rack to provide secure accommodate for up to 24 bikes.Installed on behalf of Westminster City Council, the new cycle hub features electrogalvanised perforated sheet cladding, powder coated in a Jet Black RAL colour, along with a secure access system.The whole shelter is a bespoke contemporary design of the classic FalcoLok-500 shelter, which features clean lines through the glass cladding and supported by stainless steel glass clamps. The steelwork is hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 and also meets UK structural design laws with EN 1090 accreditation. Rainwater is collected via innovative integral gutters as part of the roof system and a bespoke bund ensure that the cycle hub is weather proof!The cycle hub was commisioned to help reduce congestion and provide greater cycling accessibility for residents of Anson House.The FalcoVert-Pro as shown here at Anson House, is a space saving cycle rack design ideal for highly popular densities such as stations, cycle hubs, shopping centres, high streets and car parks etc. Bicycles are parked semi vertically with both front and rear wheels located in a custom designed trough.Falco cycle hubs can also incorporate a world of features including; smart LED lighting, green sedum roofs, CCTV and Help Point facilities as well as numerous other cost-effective features for the cyclist such as lock holders, helmet lockers, seating and bike repair facilities. This is the new bespoke cycle hub Falco recently designed, manufactured, supplied and installed this spring for Kenley Station in south Croydon. Despite the challenges posed by the global pandemic, Fusion Facades was able to adapt and deliver exceptional service.The AMRC is located at the entrance to the Samlesbury Aerospace Enterprise Zone and features a modern workspace with a flexible high-tech workshop. To blend the 48,000 sqft building into the rural surroundings, lightweight bronze metal cladding was used over a landscaped bund.As a flagship research centre for advanced manufacturing, the AMRC had to meet the highest environmental standards. The office and seminar rooms feature horizontal glazing slots with projecting cappings and perimeter framing for passive solar shading. Reflective solid panels are used within the curtain walls to reduce solar gain while retaining the articulated openings that distinguish the office and seminar rooms from a nearby main road.A neutral colour was chosen to catch the warm tones of the morning and evening light while subtly defining the different internal uses. To break down the mass, junctions between the sheets are articulated with bronze fins denoting where the structural grid occurs internally.Overall, the AMRC project has received numerous accolades and is a testament to the outstanding work done by Fusion Facades and their partners in delivering a high-quality, environmentally sustainable research facility.

NV Buildings is one of the most prestigious and iconic residential sites in Greater Manchester.The distinctive sail-shaped buildings are a major landmark in Salford Quays. The blocks have a curved main elevation providing a unique aesthetic on the skyline and are one of the most popular developments in the area.With a prominent location in Salford Quays, adjacent to the Lowry Theatre and Media City TV headquarters, the apartment blocks feature in many iconic photos of the area.The project itself was funded by the Building Safety Fund, the Government’s £4.5 billion fund to remove unsafe non-ACM cladding on residential and mixed-use properties that are 18 metres and over and do not meet building safety regulations.Our Approved Installer QFF Facades were contracted to complete the exterior wall insulation and rendering which upgraded the fire performance of the cladding, ensuring the safety of both the building and residents.Three 15 storey blocks were refurbished, with a safe and thermally efficient façade solution.Our ServiceWe worked in close partnership with QFF Facades throughout the duration of the project.Deliveries and install were strictly monitored and a very systematic approach was followed. A planned install programme was agreed to ensure minimal disruption to the residents of N V Buildings, who remained in their homes while the work was carried out on this prestigious site.We produced a bespoke specification which included various detailing such as soffits, balconies, and full height panels.A partnership approach was vital, as we worked with QFF Facades, Thomasons Consulting engineering, and the fire officer to agree upon and deliver specific detailing at abutments, openings, and for the drained cavity of the façade system.Particular attention to detail was afforded to the drained cavity fire-stops, including fire-stop details between floors, at party walls for each apartment and around openings.As part of our service commitment, our technical team were available to provide hands-on-guidance, offer support, technical guidance and ensure high levels of quality.Technical Project DetailsAfter testing, the existing cladding had been deemed a fire safety risk by experts and therefore needed to be removed and replaced with anon-combustible alternative.The project was a strip-and-refit of a drained cavity external wall insulation system, which included an expanded polystyrene insulation system.Our Approved Installer QFF Facades installed a K Systems Exicco M, Drained Cavity External Wall Insulation System for steel frame buildings, utilising Mineral Wool insulation. This high performing system provides high levels of fire resistance and non-combustibility.The fire classification of the façade for N V Buildings was upgraded to A2-s1, d0 and therefore complies with the latest building regulations, ensuring the safety of its residents.For the finish, high-performance thin coat silicone render (Silicone TC) was specified. Our Silicone TC render has a number of fantastic advantages including ease of application, and its hydrophobic properties make the render low maintenance. Available in a wide range of colours the topcoat finish used on NV Buildings is a light grey to match the original façade, meaning aesthetically the iconic buildings maintained their distinctive design.

Aspext is located close to the Lea Valley, a short walk from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and its range of facilities. The area, known as Hackney Wick is a community full of culture undergoing a wealth of regeneration following the London 2012 Olympics and boasts an wide array of galleries, bars and restaurants. The apartment building, one of six individual buildings on the Wick Lane development provides a selection of one, two & three bedroom apartments.The design incorporates Standing Seams at 200mm, 300mm, 400mm & 500mm centres in a random arrangement wrapping both the vertical façade and across the roof areas.GreenCoat PLX RAL 6027, Glacial Green was selected as it offered the Architect the bespoke colour selection. A separate low level building on the site is clad and roofed using GreenCoat PLX Metallic Silver in a similar random seam layout.

AxxessLine selected for Prestigious Kingspan PowerPanel Roof Installation.The AxxessLine horizontal lifeline system was selected by WHL Industrial Roofing and Cladding for their client on the prestigious world’s first installation of the new Kingspan PowerPanel roofing system.The first lifeline fully tested and recommended for use on the PowerPanel, the AxxessLine installation will provided complete access to the PV installation for the life of the building, ensuring that essential maintenance can be undertaken to keep the array in perfect efficiencies for the building owner.With such an important project it was essential that every factor was considered in the selection of the safety system, from the safety of the user to the compatibility with the new PowerPanel system, from the requirements for the on-going maintenance of the PV array to the impact on the Kingspan QuadCore Warranty.The AxxessLine Horizontal Lifeline system, designed and installed by a Bettersafe International trained and certified installer met every one of these requirements, providing safety and peace of mind for the building owner for many years to come.

The Lift 109 viewpoint designed by Ralph Appelbaum Associates has opened within the rebuilt chimney of Battersea Power Station in London. We manufactured and installed a concrete reception desk for the Lift 109 Experience reception area which is located in the Power Station’s magnificent Art Deco Turbine Hall A.Living Concrete team used an innovative concrete application technique to create custom-built reception desk for our client Beck Interiors. MicroConcrete fluted tiles in Willow Green colour were cladded onto MDF frame, seamlessly achieving a very complex and detailed design. Hand cast and hand polished oval shape concrete worktops in Ivory were assembled onsite. By using the best of modern technology, we have created a modern and robust design that demonstrates how concrete can be both good looking and functional.

On this redevelopment project we worked closely with McLaren.Excell Architects to manufacture and supply bespoke concrete kitchen worktops and concrete cladded central island in a newly renovated penthouse flat at a warehouse in Shoreditch.The glass fibre reinforced concrete central island, splash backs and worktops were manufactured using our special GRC BTX concrete, which is lighter and stronger than traditional concrete. We used our unique eco concrete mix technology with a hydrophobic agent to limit moisture absorption. The individual elements were precast in our workshop for assembly on site and then hand polished and treated with a specialist sealant. Living Concrete’s worktops are extremely strong and durable and can be used indoors or outdoors. By using the best of modern technology, we have created a sleek contemporary look that demonstrates how concrete can be both eye catching and functional.

The Sandy Park hotel (a £35 million project) is located at the southern end of the award-winning Sandy Park complex found next to the Exeter Chiefs Rugby stadium.Sandy Park Hotel which officially opened in April 2022, has 250 bedrooms, a rooftop bar and a restaurant including state-of-the-art leisure facilities. The building is an eight-story hotel that boasts beautiful views of the River Exe Estuary. At its front is a bridge leading from Sandy Park Complex’s south end and into one of UK’s finest hotels -The Marriott Hotel Reception where guests are welcomed upon arrival.Valcan supplied approx. 2000m2 of Valcan Ceramapanel in charcoal and light slate with a finish of natural textures touch.Valcan Ceramapanel is a non-combustible fibre cement cladding rated A1 to BS EN 13501-01 which was the perfect choice for the building’s facade.

19 Queen Elizabeth Street - a former warehouse, located in London, dates back to its construction in 1904. A redevelopment plan was set in motion to transform this space into a versatile mixed-use scheme. Burwell Architects designed both office spaces and 10 luxury apartments - including a new roof extension, creating a fourth floor.To achieve this transformation, property developer Hollybrook Homes along with Dmitro Developments opted to clad the new level with our VitraDual aluminium panels.The choice of the 5361 Corton 2 (Naturaline Metal Colour) panels not only added a contemporary feel to the new structure, but also ensured durability and longevity.Hollybrook Homes received accolades for the redevelopment, including the Premier Guarantee Office Development of the Year award and the Highly Commended Premier Guarantee Excellence award for Refurbishments/Conversion. Testament to the exceptional work and thoughtful design that went into this transformation.

Burleigh Medical CentreA new build two storey primary care medical centre and integrated Pharmacy.The scheme was to create a space both inside and out that was contemporary and engaging for the service users. The client’s vision was to pay homage to Barnsley's historic mining community which is reflected in the choice of materials both inside and out.The heavily contrasting external materials of dark anthracite cladding with white sparkling block work are reflected back within the interiors. Bold geometric shapes are used throughout the scheme referencing shapes found in geologic materials. Hexagonal forms were used for the children’s built in feature seating and also within the Soundtect Freestyle acoustic panels which meant contemporary Artwork patterns could be formed. Soundtect Acoustic Freestyle panels were selected as the product of choice as they provided versatility with form and a rich colour palette to complement the interior design

BackgroundLocated in the Ancoats area of Manchester, the Albion Works strip and re-fit project was funded by the Building Safety Fund, a Government Fund to remove unsafe non-ACM cladding on residential and mixed-use properties that are 18 metres and over and do not meet building safety regulations.K Systems Approved Installer QFF Façades were contracted to complete the exterior wall insulation and rendering of the 8-storey residential building.The original 60mm EPS system was stripped from the building and replaced with a safe, thermally efficient façade solution, which upgraded the fire performance of the cladding, ensuring the safety of both the building and residents.Our ServiceK Systems provided support throughout the application process for this Building Safety Fund project. The Technical team offered on-site technical and installation support throughout the build process and supported QFF to ensure quality and reliability.We produced a bespoke specification and worked closely with Thomason Consulting and QFF Façades to agree and deliver specifics such as fire stopping and abutment details.From design advice through to installation, we offered a partnership approach which aided a smooth installation process with minimal disruption.Technical Project DetailsThe original sheathing boards were replaced, and the K Systems Exicco M drained cavity façade system was installed. This high performing drained cavity system was specified as a requirement for this steel frame residential building. 60mm mineral wool insulation was specified to retain the line of the existing façade.Fire safety with high rise buildings like Albion Works is of utmost importance and this solution generates high levels of fire resistance and non-combustibility (A2, s1-d0 rating), meaning the latest building regulations were complied with. Additionally, the thermal performance of the building improved with a U-value of 0.28 W/m²K being achieved. Residents will therefore enjoy reduced heating costs and better living conditions.For the finish, silicone thin coat render ensured that aesthetically Albion Works had a clean, crisp attractive appearance. This durable, low maintenance render transformed the outside of the building and will ensure a longlasting finish to the property.

The Luton DART (Direct Air-Rail Transit) transfers passengers from Luton Airport Parkway station to the terminal of London Luton Airport in under four minutes, spanning a distance of 2.3km. The replacement of the conventional bus service with the DART cable car-hauled system marks a significant leap in efficiency and convenience for travellers. To provide adequate ventilation at the Luton DART terminal, where all travellers congregate, DUCO was called in.A breath of fresh air in the busily visited terminalA lot of travellers pass through the terminal every day which means the space needs to be well ventilated. Two DUCO intensive ventilation products were used for this purpose: DucoWall Classic 50/75Z and DucoGrille Clasic 50HP.DucoWall Classic 50/75ZThe reason for selection of this continuous louvre wall system was the requirement to match the claddings 75 mm alignment. The sample provided gained approval swiftly. Notably, this system offers extensive spanning capabilities with minimal support sections, coupled with a large airflow and water resistance. The DucoWall Classic 50/75Z series offers a continuous aesthetic appearance and its unique click and turn clips ensured a fast installation.DucoGrille Classic 50HPThe sheer volume of passengers carried by Luton DART means a large build-up of stale air. The high airflow of the DucoGrille Classic 50HP at a huge 60% ensured that this could be evacuated quickly and that a large amount of fresh air could replace it.Impact of the DUCO intensive ventilation productsThe integration of DucoWall Classic 50/75Z and DucoGrille Classic 50HP systems within the Luton Dart Terminal also contributed to the interior environment. Not only do these solutions optimise ventilation, ensuring a constant flow of fresh air, but they also contribute to the terminal's sleek architectural appeal. The continuous louvre wall serves as both a functional screening and cladding element, elevating the terminal's aesthetic while maintaining operational efficiency.In essence, the collaboration between innovative ventilation solutions and architectural design exemplifies a harmonious blend of form and function, setting a new standard for modern transportation hubs.

THE PROJECTNumber One Bristol is a high-end student living development home to a collection of studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses. Setting a new standard for students living in Bristol.The development features a rooftop garden (known as the ‘Sky Meadow’) providing breath-taking views across the city of Bristol, on-site parking and a central location allowing you easy access to the very best of the city life.This project uses both a bank of mailboxes to securely store mail deliveries and a high-capacity MEFA Mega parcel box which allows for large parcel deliveries to be stored in a secure location.THE MAILBOXESThe mailboxes used on this project are located in the reception lobby area allow easy access for residents to retrieve their mail as they pass on the way to their home.The mailbox model used is the MODA Horizontal mailbox, finished in a high-quality stainless steel 304L grade. The bank is freestanding fixed to the floor using table supports designed and manufactured to carry the weight of the mailboxes and securely hold them in one position, whether empty or full to capacity of deliveries.The mailboxes are an in front / out front type, allowing for mail to delivered and retrieved through the front face of the post box.The mailboxes are fitted with surround cladding on either side of the bank and the top of the unit, with this cladding the table support finished in a contrasting black PPC colour finish. Each mailbox has been engraved with a number to match the apartment ID, allowing both mail delivery personnel and residents to easily identify which mailbox is the correct item to use.Safety Letterbox supplied and installed the whole solution.PARCEL DELIVERYParcel deliveries are secured in the project by a single MEFA Mega parcel box, allowing up to 96 litres of mail to be securely stored at one time. The MEFA Mega parcel box is freestanding fitted to the floor through the bottom panel of the product, securely holding this item in the correct position.The parcel box has been fitted with contrasting vinyl with the logo of The PG Group – the Bristol based property developer involved with this project.The MEFA Mega parcel box is available to purchase on our online store.

This is the latest cycle hub designed, manufactured, supplied and installed by Falco for Fairfield General Hospital in Bury, Greater Manchester. Installed on behalf of Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation trust, the cycle hub is based on the flagship FalcoLok design and provides staff, visitors and patients to the hospital with secure cycle parking for up to 28 bikes.The FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle racks are housed within a 6m x 4m version of the FalcoLok-500 cycle hub, complete with easy access automatic power doors, motion sensor LED lighting, helmet lockers, bespoke branding graphics and powder coating in an NHS blue RAL colour. The cycle hub is clad in toughened safety glass, designed to be sympathetic to the surrounding area.The whole shelter is a bespoke contemporary design of the classic Falco Cycle Hub shelter, which features clean lines through the glass cladding and supported by stainless steel glass clamps. The steelwork is hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 and also meets UK structural design laws with EN 1090 accreditation. Architect: AtkinsInstaller: Vitec Ceilings and PartitionsProduct: Gustafs Linear RibA small but perfectly executed project at 75m2, the new Bracknell Forest Council chambers at the Times Square building in Berkshire is clad with Gustafs Linear Ribs to the ceiling and feature wall.The plain white ceiling ribs are organised into multiple square rafts across the space installed in alternating directions and interspersed with traditional ceiling tiles, lighting, and vents.The split feature wall which stands either side of the speakers’ podium and main panel desks is made up of a mixture of natural Oak and Bamboo veneer and painted ribs installed with irregularly positioned 45° angled joints.The ribs were delivered oversized and cut to size on site, the mitre joints were also cut on site by Vitec and joined using extra-long installation clips to keep the joint inline and give the illusion of a dip-dyed rib.

Walton Court Gardens by BroadwayMalyan and Gillespies for Crest Nicholson is a substantial project offering 375 new homes in Walton-on-Thames on the site of the former Birds Eye headquarters. Walton Court pays homage to the site’s original building by echoing the prior site half hexagonal aluminium facade in its full-height angled facade, evoking the original pattern. The central “jewel” building is sat amongst the surrounding buildings clad in Freshfield Lane’s Danehill Yellows. Sunlight bounces from the centre building offering an ever-changing facade through shadow and light. Streets built for the project will be planted alongside new and existing trees to create harmony between the landscape and architectural vernacular. The project draws on influences from the Birds Eye master plan and retains its strong sense of geometry while ensuring that the site is pedestrian friendly and easy to navigate for its new residential community.

Townscape’s involvement has assisted in creating a new and high-quality public realm that is practical and links the rail station with local businesses and residents.
