We are proud to have been a part of the renovation and expansion works at the 18-hole championship Suffolk Golf Club for the past 12 months. The overall project included vanity units and shelves, basic shower cubicles, saloon door shower cubicles, heavy duty lockers, bench seating and coat hook rails, toilet cubicles and IPS panelling, and boxed in pipework creating a bench seat.

Ronafix Pre-packed Screed 6-50mm was specified to be laid to falls to provide drainage to the new terrace construction, which provides access to student accommodation and waterproofing to the rear of the shop units below. Early application of the asphalt waterproofing was possible because Ronafix Pre-packed Screed 6-50mm dries faster than traditional sand and cement screeds, reducing the delay between application of the screed and waterproofing.

Timber box sash windows from the Mumford & Wood Conservation™ range have been specified for a stunning landmark restoration project in North London, in the Borough of Haringey. Situated in the Highgate Conservation area this 1916 Edwardian Baroque Grade II listed building has been converted to 2, 3 and 4-bedroom luxurious contemporary-lifestyle residential units by Furnival House Developments Limited.

The King Edward VII Galleries is a Grade 1 listed structure and part of the iconic British Museum complex in London.Constructed between 1907 and 1914, the building sits above a series of tunnels and ventilation shafts, which serve to supply air to the gallery via an external ventilation unit.Due to water ingress in the tunnels, there was serious concern as to the quality of air supplied to the gallery, and the impact that this might have on the artefacts kept there.

Patshull Activity Centre, a volunteer run Scout campsite that has played host to tens of thousands of children across the Black Country, South Staffordshire, and Shropshire since before the First World War has undergone a comprehensive renovation and redevelopment. The Islington Waste Recycling Centre is looking to decarbonise. At present, the centre accounts for 9% of Islington Council’s corporate estate gas use and the aim is to reduce that to zero. To achieve this, air source heat pumps and condenser units will be installed which posed an immediate challenge – how to install new copper pipework without disrupting the recycling centre. Located in the heart of the vast new Wembley Park regeneration project, the two residential buildings that make up the Landsby East and Landsby West development (Danish for village) are contemporary in design, with apartment interiors that continue the Scandinavian theme. Externally there are roof terraces and first floor level podium gardens, along with 280 generous balconies that add a stylish and aesthetic feel to the exterior finish of the building.A key element of the balconies was the installation of Isokorb® T structural break units from Schöck. The Schöck Isokorb® T units are structural, but their other long-term purpose is to minimise the risk of thermal bridging. Ineffective insulation at the connection points means local heat loss, resulting in more energy being required to maintain the internal temperature of the building. This is a major consequence of thermal bridging, but there are other issues too. Low internal surface temperatures in the area of the thermal bridge can cause condensation, which leads not only to structural integrity problems with absorbent materials such as insulation products or plasterboard, but the potentially serious occurrence of mould growth. So for any project involving balcony connectivity the prevention of thermal bridging is a critical issue.

Accessible toileting facilities are crucial in public spaces to meet the diverse needs of individuals. Changing Places toilets, such as the modular Care Capsule™, provide a portable and adaptable solution for those with disabilities, ensuring they can enjoy their outings comfortably. A recent project with the Sussex Wildlife Trust exemplifies the effectiveness of Care Capsule™ in upgrading existing facilities. Despite space constraints in the visitors and education centres, a modular unit was swiftly installed adjacent to the main building, offering accessibility without the need for extensive construction within pre-existing structures.The project, initiated in January 2023, aimed for completion by the end of March 2023. The tight timeline was met through efficient processes, including a prompt site survey, proposal acceptance, and swift groundworks. Overcoming challenges like relocating a power cable, the team successfully hoisted the Care Capsule™ into place. The exterior was clad in local chestnut timber to harmonize with the surroundings, while interior features like Altro non-slip vinyl flooring, White Rock welded wall finishes, and height-adjustable units ensured both functionality and aesthetic coherence.

Kent and Canterbury Hospital had received funding to complete a new sensory garden that could be used by their patients at the Neuro-Rehabilitation Unit within the hospital. Cardy Construction Ltd. were awarded the project to complete the garden and turn the design created by local garden designer, Christine Patterson into reality. The garden design included a requirement for some shade in part of the garden to offer cover over the new outdoor seating area.

Stainless steel worktops, by GEC Anderson, were deployed in the refurbishment of the mess room at Roath Fire Station in Cardiff. The kitchen units were supplied by Steelplan Kitchens.The continuous, high quality, stainless steel worktops provide a highly professional look and feel to the busy area within this important emergency facility. The requirements of hygiene, durability and safety are met by the worksuraces that feature integrated sink bowls as well as upstands to walls.

The building comprises of 3 sections, varying in height with retail space on the ground floor and student accommodation from the 1st to 10th floor being operated by Unite Students, which runs student accommodation sites across the UK. The project utilises Aluprof MB-SR50N capped curtain walling and inward opening vents with an external mesh to prevent objects from being release at high level from inside the building.

The regeneration of Fylde Promenade and the coastal defence systems that run from Church Scar to Fairhaven in Lytham St Annes were funded by the Environment Agency.The £17.5m contract was designed to protect thousands of homes from flooding and to refresh the public realm space along the 11km stretch of coast line area.This included a requirement for a significant number of robust & contemporary seating units that Artform Urban Furniture were commissioned to provide.

The Admiral Quay development comprises of eight high-rise residential blocks offering exceptional views from a prime location. A Hereford-based landlord has ensured her tenants are enjoying a warmer and quieter environment thanks to secondary glazing, manufactured and supplied by Granada Glazing.Landlord, Louise Davies, and her father Derek Wilson, chose Granada’s secondary glazing system to replace some older secondary units and improve the thermal efficiency of the flats, which have single-glazed timber sash windows. An added benefit is the reduction in noise extrusion.

The Perry Barr Regeneration Scheme, Birmingham, aims to support the local economy and bring wider community benefits.  Kier is delivering Plot 6, one of the largest plots. Upon completion, the eight-storey mixed-use building will provide 267 residential apartments for the area, as well as commercial units. West Dunbartonshire Council began plans to combine local primary schools and pool resources in a 53,280 sq ft, £16.5 million development. They bought St Kessog’s Primary and Balloch Primary into one place, along with an additional support needs unit and early learning and childcare centre. The Challenge Modern paving was required for community-based retail developmentSuperValu invested €12m in a 15,200 square foot store in Dunboyne, Co Meath. The location of the retail development has great significance to the local community, having previously served as the local GAA grounds.  Extending its current product offering, the new scheme also aims to become a local community hub. The design champions a community ethos with the inclusion of a large open outdoor space. The open plan space offers flexibility for market stalls or event structures. The new development has incorporated four adjacent units, office accommodation and a café. The new state-of-the-art retail hub required high quality paving that would complement the grey brick and granite cladding of the building. The main entrance and pedestrian walkways needed to fulfil the hard landscape design aspirations.  The Solution Tobermore’s Fusion and Manhattan perfectly complement the retail hub  Tobermore presented hard landscaping options to complement the new state-of-the-art retail development. Fusion and Manhattan block paving were the perfect choice to blend with the grey brick and granite cladding building.  Laid in alternating bands, the striking granite aggregate finish of the paving responds to the staggered elevations of the building. Linear paver Manhattan was used for areas of the main walkways in mixed sizes with smaller units of Fusion laid either side. The three-colour mix of grey tones in a stretcher bond laying pattern adds character and visual appeal to the central plaza.  The grey tones do not follow a particular sequence and the linear bands do not adhere to fixed widths. The intention was to achieve a certain randomness that feels natural and softens contrast. The range of unit sizes and colours of Fusion and Manhattan helped create this vision.  Tobermore’s Fusion kerb added the finishing touch to the project with its striking granite aesthetic as a border surrounding the soft landscaping in the central plaza.   

Sto has supplied the StoTherm Mineral K external wall insulation system with StoLotusan render for the new Day Case and Eye Unit building at Chorley and South Ribble Hospital. Specified by Gilling Dod architects of Chorley, who worked closely with the main contractor Tilbury Douglas, the StoTherm Mineral K system combines impressive insulation with excellent fire protection characteristics. With an A2-s1, d0 reaction to fire classification in accordance with BS EN 13501-1, the non-combustible mineral fibre insulation is fully bonded to the substrate and therefore no additional firebreaks are required. Ideal for both new-build and refurbishment projects, its efficient single-leaf construction also means that interior space within the building is not reduced.  For this project, the system’s mineral fibre insulation boards were secured to the lightweight steel frame and sheathing board substrate with mechanical fixings and StoLevell Uni adhesive and levelling mortar. A StoLevell Duo Plus reinforcing coat embedded with Sto-Glass Fibre Mesh was then applied to the face of the insulation boards, with StoLotusan and StoSilco renders used for the final finish on different sections of the building, using light colours from Sto’s architectural colour range.  StoLotusan is the only render available that uses Sto’s patented Lotus-Effect® technology which delivers impressive water and dirt repellence. It forms a unique surface texture, similar to that of the lotus leaf, that causes the rainwater to run off the render quickly and easily, removing any dirt or dust as it goes. Providing outstanding resistance to the growth of algae and fungus, the building will retain its looks for many years to come.  The new Day Case and Eye Unit is the result of a major £17.5 million investment in developing enhanced ophthalmology and day case services. The new Day Case and Eye Unit now offers an extensive range of diagnostic and treatment facilities for patients with medical eye conditions.

SPSenvirowall’s RendaClad, the perfect solution of choice transformed a vacant site in Blackburn. This unique project features a mix of 73 modular homes consisting of two, three and four-bed houses and bungalows for Blackburn City Council. The units are timber-framed and BOPAS accredited making SPSenvirowall’s RendaClad System the perfect fit. SPSenvirowall supplied approximately 6,500m2 of its RendaClad System consisting of 9mm RendaClad board, Envirorend and a mixture of flexible SpeedySlips.

The metal gutters to this industrial unit were severely corroded and leaked in various places. The Liquasil liquid gutter lining system was specified to provide a seamless, flexible liner. Heavy and loose rust was first removed and the surface was treated with Liquasil SWT Primer, a marine quality rust treatment. Joints were sealed with non-Sag Sealer and then Liquasil One was applied to the entire surface. The project is covered by Liquasil's unique Latent Defects Insurance Guarantee.

Secondary glazing supplied by Granada Secondary Glazing has added greater thermal and acoustic efficiency to an historic converted chapel in the Vale of Glamorgan, delivering 21st century levels of comfort for the building’s occupants and helping to lower energy bills.To provide additional thermal insulation and soundproofing to the original single-glazed windows, a total of 15 Granada Glazing’s Vertical Sliders and two-pane and three-pane Horizontal Sliding Units were installed.

Liquasil's BBA Approved cut edge corrosion treatment was specified for use on this metal roof on an industrial unit in central Birmingham. Liquasil SWT Primer was first applied to all rusted areas. SWT stands for "Surface and Wet Tolerant" meaning that it can be applied to wet and rusted surfaces. The primed areas were then coated with Liquasil's Flexlap - a purpose made silicone polymer coating to provide total protection from further lap corrosion.

THE PROJECTThe Royal Wharf is a new town built within the city of London, the development introduced over 3000 new residential units in a prominent and beautiful riverside location. Headed up by Ballymore, this location is over 40 acres of land, minutes from Canary Wharf and just half an hour from Oxford Street. Making it a very desirable place to live in London. The idea was to bring a community within the development, to ensure this there is also a new school, GP surgery, high street, pubs, and community centre.The amenities offered include a concierge service, gym and swimming pool, parks, and a riverside walk.
