Type U Cavitray
Description

Preformed, self-supporting, moulded damp proof course (DPC) cavity tray for use under masonry sills. Bedded prior to commencing construction of sill in masonry or tile, the Type U acts as a shuttering formwork guide that is enveloped within the formation wherein it functions as a protective cavity tray.

  • Suitable for traditional or timber frame construction.
  • Suitable for brick, tile, concrete, reconstructed stone and natural stone sills.
  • Differential movement allowance in timber frame construction can be accommodated.
  • Removable front section acts as guide to provide accurate tile or brick sill alignment.
  • Optional insulation barrier to provide thermal break – subject to sill design.
  • Available in a range of profiles to suit required angle of sill.
  • Collected water can be safely discharged via Type W weepvents.

Length:

Comprises external window masonry opening width plus 300 mm to a maximum of 2400 mm. Greater lengths can be achieved using glove lap joints. Where sill continues beyond opening specify a tray length to accommodate the additional sill length.
