Thermafold 2000 Insulated Folding Doors
Application

Suitable for larger openings or exposed locations where the door's robust construction makes it tolerant of high wind conditions. Its flush-faced design renders a high aesthetic appearance, combined with the energy-saving benefits from an insulated construction.

Description

Top-hung, insulated folding doors.

Features and benefits:

  • Door panels: constructed from double-skin steel sheets, infilled with high-density insulating material. Panels are typically 40 to 65 mm thick, and are manufactured in various designs to suit clients’ individual requirements. Partially or fully-glazed versions are available.
  • Seals: high-quality ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) seals are fitted between the panels and at the jambs. Brush seals are fitted at the top and bottom.
  • Top track: galvanized steel rolled section, forming a box-type track on which pulleys run, mounted on the top of the door panels. A branch track is incorporated to allow the door to stack correctly.
  • Bottom track: a galvanized steel bottom track is recessed into the floor, and acts as a guide. Brass rollers connected to the bottom hinges run on a steel channel bottom track, which is set for alignment within a 200 x 75 mm chase before finally being grouted into position.
  • Door arrangements: pairs of panels make up each door or half door (between two and ten on each side). The door is face-fixed to the inside, and the panels stack at 90 degrees to the opening when open.
  • Operation: electrical operation is via a 400 V, three-phase geared motor, mounted on the top track at one or both ends. Push-button controls are provided at low level, and emergency manual operation is via hand chain, which is connected and disconnected at low level.
