Description

Decorative panels manufactured from 100% Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) decorative European pine plywood and birch plywood.

Birch plywood:

  • Birch is a hardwood with an excellent strength to weight ratio.
  • Performs well in applications requiring strength and rigidity.
  • Light colour and smooth surface.

European pine plywood:

  • The pine plywood is carefully specified and manufactured to provide an attractive and decorative panel with high grade rotary cut faces and solid core veneers.
  • Softwood plywood has an interesting grain pattern that lends itself to decorative use. It is a naturally knotty timber; higher grade face veneers are selected during the manufacturing process.

Technical characteristics:

  • Humidity and application to BS EN 636: Class 3 - Interior, humid and exterior conditions (Non-fire rated).
  • Face grade: I/II grade.
  • Bonding class to EN 314-2: Class 3.
  • Moisture content to EN 315 and DIN 68705 (birch plywood): 10% (±2%).
  • Formaldehyde: In accordance with the standard EN 13986 the formaldehyde emission meets the Class E1 requirements (test method EN 717-2).

Product Options

Material:

- Birch plywood, grade B:

  • Highest quality plywood.
  • Slight discolouration permitted, no external defects pin knots permitted.
  • Maximum of three repair patches (plugs) per m².
  • For high quality painting, staining and lacquering.

- Birch plywood, grade BB:

  • High-quality plywood.
  • Predominantly unfilled and sanded veneer.
  • All major defects replaced with wood patches.
  • A restricted number of solid minor knots are admissible along with small, closed splits.
  • Some brown stain permitted.
  • Allow for colour variations.

- Birch plywood, grade C:

  • The lowest grade plywood. Not sanded, open defects of wood structure and processing defects are allowed.
  • For construction purposes when face grade is not important i.e. packaging.

- Birch plywood, grade CP:

  • Discolouration and plugs are allowed without limits.
  • Putty repairs.
  • Larger defects.

- Birch plywood, grade S:

For good quality painting, staining and lacquering.

- Birch plywood, grade WG:

  • For use where surface appearance is not important, reverse grade.
  • Sound knots permitted.
  • Open splits and checks up to 4 mm wide. Discolouration, streaks, roughness, glue penetration and plugs permitted.

- European pine plywood, face grade A:

  • Rotary cut.
  • Sound intergrown knots up to 15 mm diameter, but not more than 30 mm cumulative diameter per m².
  • Filled unsound knots up to 6 mm diameter and in the amount of up to two pieces per m².
  • Filled splits up to 1/10 of panel Iength, 3 mm diameter, three pieces per m².
  • Wooden plugs up to five pieces per m².
  • Slight colour variation from panel to panel.
  • Defects at the edges up to 2 mm.

- European pine plywood, face grade B:

  • Rotary cut.
  • Sound intergrown knots up to 50 mm diameter.
  • Filled unsound knots and knot holes up to 25 mm and in the amount of six pieces per m².
  • Filled splits up to 10 mm width, 1/3 of panel Iength, three pieces per m².
  • Wooden plugs.
  • Slight colour variation from panel to panel.
  • Defects at the panel edges up to 5 mm.

  • 15 mm (11 ply) – Non-fire rated.
