Description

SoundEX L300 is an acoustic ventilation louvre designed to provide effective noise attenuation in applications requiring airflow, including plant enclosures, rooftop plant areas, and service zones.

The 300mm deep louvre construction delivers enhanced acoustic performance compared to shallower systems, while maintaining a balanced free area for effective ventilation. This makes it well suited to projects where both noise control and airflow are key design considerations.

Louvre blades are set at a 200mm vertical pitch and inclined at 45°, incorporating a non-combustible acoustic infill to reduce noise transmission through the unit. A mesh lining is applied to the underside of the blades to retain the acoustic media and ensure long-term durability.

Tested acoustic performance data, including insertion loss across octave band frequencies, is available, with systems independently tested by the University of Salford.

The system can be manufactured from aluminium, galvanised steel, or stainless steel, and is available in a wide range of finishes to suit architectural and environmental requirements.

All SoundEX systems are available as factory-assembled modules or in kit form for in-situ assembly, providing flexibility to suit site constraints, access limitations, and installation preferences.

Guidance for specification option:

Either 25 mm/ 50 mm/ 75 mm/ 100 mm thick Insulated composite panel to provide thermal performance and ‘U’-value to design requirements. Core can be constructed from rigid slab PIR/ Rockwool/ Styrofoam/ EPS material dependent upon thermal and acoustic properties required. Generally supplied with PIR core to BS 476-7 Class 1 or Class 0.

Manufacturer guidance

Louvres to be installed in line with manufacturer’s instructions by a competent installer using either stainless steel, galvanised mild steel, BZP fixings to appropriate size and installation arrangement and fixing substrate demand. All fixings and fasteners to be supplied self-coloured, unpainted.

Extra heavy duty, UV stabilised, extruded black polypropylene fitted to rear of louvres c/w 16 x 16 mm square aperture mesh size 2 x 50 m roll 100 mm overlap at joints and crimp sealed at 200 mm centres to secure.

Galvanised MS, stainless steel expanded mesh, weld mesh and security mesh available.

Insect mesh.

Guidance for specification option:

Extra heavy duty, UV stabilised, extruded black polypropylene fitted to rear of louvres c/w 1.13 x 1.13 mm square aperture mesh size 1.2/ 1.8 x 30 m roll with 100 mm overlap at joints, flat bar clamped fixed at 200 mm centres to secure sealing.

Galvanised MS, stainless steel and aluminium insect mesh available.

Fire dampers.

Guidance for specification option:

Fire dampers can be supplied to fit to the rear of the louvre system operating via fusible link device or 24 V/ 230 V motorised actuator for link to client’s fire alarm system to enable automatic operation to either fully open or fully close in an emergency. Fire dampers are of modular construction and fitted to back of louvre system to best array arrangement and sealed with intumescent materials and MS closure materials. Fire dampers supplied self-coloured steel grey material or unpainted, mill finish, stainless steel.

Cellular intumescent fire block.

Guidance for specification option:

Non-controllable, non-maintenance, Intumescent ‘fire block’ panels can be fitted to rear to provide 2 hour or 4 hour fire protection to the louvre system. The fire block is of modular construction and fitted within galvanised MS framework to provide certified fire protection. Components fabricated from galvanised MS and fitted with intumescent fire seals/gaskets. Fire blocks supplied self-coloured steel grey material.
