Application

Can be used where the conditions or design of the structure make traditional tanking methods difficult to use. Suitable for above- and below-ground usage, including;

  • Walls and floors of basements.
  • Cellars.

The design of the structure should allow access for maintenance.

Description

High-density, polypropylene (PP) cavity drainage system internal drainage membrane that creates a secondary internal wall and floor to regulate water after it has penetrated the structure. The system directs penetrating water into a drainage system and collection sump before a pump releases water from the building for disposal.

The system comprises:

– Sika® drainage products:

  • Sika® HD Drainage Membrane
  • Sika® Standard Drainage Membrane
  • Sika® CD pump kit – single sump and pump kit with alarm.
  • Sika® CD battery back-up kit.
  • Sika® CD channel.
  • Sika® CD channel outlet – for discharging from channel into sump.
  • Sika® CD channel jetting point – maintains the drainage system.

– Sika® fixing and sealing components:

  • Sika® masonry plug.
  • Sika® plaster plug.
  • Sika® CD rope.
  • Sika® CD tape.
  • Sika® CD plaster tape.
  • Sika® CD corner seal.


Benefits:

  • Cavity drain provides protection from the ingress of water, vapour and gases.
  • Suitable for use where the substrate does not have the strength to resist stresses caused by water pressure.
  • Can accommodate slight movements within the structure.
  • Minimal surface preparation is required.
  • Loose-laid and fixed to the wall using surface plugs.
  • Once fitted, wall surfaces can be dry-lined or plastered and floors can be screeded.
  • Can be used to grades 1–3, and is suitable for high water table according to BS 8102:2009.
  • BBA- and BSI-approved.
