Application

Dampers are designed for using in fire compartments that can be connected to the smoke exhaust ducts (tested according to BS EN 1366-8 or 9) or they can be installed in or on the construction of the fire compartment. The damper can be installed into:

Horizontal or vertical smoke extraction ducts.
Designed for installation with horizontal blade axis.
Gypsum plasterboard wall construction with a minimum thickness of 100 mm (wall or shaft wall).
Solid wall construction with a minimum thickness of 100 mm (wall or shaft wall).
In shaft wall British gypsum with a minimum thickness of 107 mm (wall or shaft wall).

Description

Smoke control dampers SEDM-L are designed into an inlet or extract smoke ventilation system. The dampers are designed either to close to provide compartmentation or to open (for fresh air inlet) or to allow removal of the heat and combustible products from a fire in the affected fire zone/ compartment.

The damper blade is controlled by electrical actuating mechanism. Dampers are fire resistant and are intended for systems with manual or automatic activation.
