Roof Access Hatches

High-quality roof access hatches crafted from either aluminium or steel. Each unit is handcrafted in the United Kingdom, adhering to rigorous standards. These hatches are designed with insulation ensuring optimal thermal efficiency. Additionally, they feature dual EDPM seals, guaranteeing weather resistance and improved air permeability. The lid of each hatch is equipped with twin gas struts, allowing for effortless assisted opening. Notably, one of the gas struts automatically locks when fully extended, preventing any accidental closure of the lid. This feature eliminates the need for an extra stay open mechanism, resulting in reduced weight and enhanced aesthetics.

The insulation employed consists of twin foil-backed PIR insulation, measuring 50 mm in thickness. The insulation is free from CFC and HCFC, with a zero ODP and GWP rating, ensuring the preservation of the building's thermal integrity.

Security and opening:

The roof hatch lid is fitted to the main body with hardened steel hinges. Each hatch is fitted with an internal cab lock handle and an external push button so can be opened from either the inside or the outside. Likewise, each hatch is fitted with loops which allow a padlock (not included) to be fitted to provide a secure lock either internally or externally.

Fitting:

The base of the upstand has a purpose made flashing which gives additional surface area to ensure maximum adhesion with the roof felt.

Finish options:

• The standard finish is primed. Please note this requires painting with a suitable exterior paint.
• Two powder coated options, either single (one) colour externally and internally or dual which allows the inside to be a different colour to the outside. Please note, pricing is based on standard RAL colours, special colours may be an additional cost (contact manufacturer for details).
• Stainless steel finish is recommended for high corrosion environments such as any property within five miles of the coastline, swimming pools etc. The hatch is made entirely from grade 316 (marine) stainless steel (including the hinge).
