Application

This product is for use as a capsheet layer within an IKO high performance built up roofing system specification.


The product must be applied by an IKO Approved Installer. All work must be undertaken in accordance with the requirements of the specific information provided with the issued IKO Specification document, or guidance documents where applicable.

Description

IKO ULTRA Prevent 25 systems can be used as a hybrid system or a torch applied system, ensuring the product is versatile for both the site conditions and project requirements. The ULTRA Prevent systems achieve exceptional waterproofing functionality and an impressive life expectancy in excess of 30 years – BBA approved (Certificate No. 91/2671). Please note: IKO ULTRA Stick systems should be used for Safe2Torch locations.

Guidance for specification option:

KOpro Sprayfast MPP (Black, Multipurpose Primer) is a

specially formulated high performance bonding primer.

It allows the speed of application of the bonding primer

to be five times faster than conventional bitumen primers,

promoting strong bonds at temperatures as low as

5°C. For self adhesive and torch applied bitumen membranes.

IKOpro Quick Dry Bitumen Primer.

Guidance for specification option:

IKOpro Quick Dry Bitumen Primer (black) is a fast-drying bitumen priming solution for torch applied bitumen membranes.

Self adhesive for combustible substrates


S-A VCL (Self-Adhesive) is a high performance vapour barrier for use in adhered IKO Polymeric systems. It is composed of a polyester reinforced aluminium core, coated with a rubber modified, self-adhesive bitumen coating. The membrane is protected on the underside with a release film backing and coated on the top surface with a fine mineral finish. A selvedge of 75mm width, protected with release film, provides a quick means of completing side laps.

IKO Ultra T-O Air and Vapour Control Layer.

Torch applied to non combustible substrates only


T-O VCL (Torch-on) is a high performance vapour control layer for use in adhered IKO Polymeric systems. It comprises an impervious aluminium core, reinforced with polyester and coated with a specially formulated quick melt SBS modified bitumen. The lower surface has a sacrificial film which rapidly melts during the torching operation.

IKO enertherm MW, 60 mm thickness.

Guidance for specification option:

A dual-density stone wool insulation board. It is used for the thermal insulation in a variety of warm flat roofing system applications where a non-combustible and/ or acoustic insulation solution is required. Width: 1200 mm.

IKO enertherm MW, 120 mm thickness.

Manufacturer guidance

IKO enertherm GOLD is a 100 % CFC, HCFC or HFC-free insulation board with a rigid polyisocyanurate foam core, clad on both sides with a multi-layer gastight aluminium complex. This high-quality rooftop insulation consists of no fewer than seven layers, combined into a single complex. It is tested under extreme conditions in respect of water absorption, mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and emissivity.

IKO Ultra H-A Underlay.

Guidance for specification option:

IKO Systems H-A underlays are polyester reinforced bitumen membranes used as underlays within a built up roofing system, The membranes are coated on both sides with self-adhesive bitumen SBS elastomeric coating. They have a fine mineral upper surface with a 75 mm release film selvedge to facilitate rapid installation of lap joints. Size: 1 x 16 m.

IKO Ultra H-A DETAILING Underlay.

Guidance for specification option:

The underside has a self-adhesive bitumen coating for fully bonded and all waterproofing detailing applications. The self-adhesive coating is protected by a release film. 


Flame-free application. Surface protection from the fine granule finish. Grey in colour. Size: 16 x 1 m

IKO Ultra T-O Underlay.

Guidance for specification option:

IKO Systems Torch-On Under layer consists of a polyester carrier coated with SBS rubber modified bitumen. The upper surface is finished with fine sand and the lower surface has a thermofusible film which rapidly melts during the torching operation. Size: 12 x 1 m.

IKO Carrara.

Guidance for specification option:

IKO Carrara is an innovative ecological roofing membrane combining a variety of ingenious technologies for the improvement of the environment. The mineral finishing of IKO Carrara is coated with a special type of titanium dioxide (TiO2). Under the influence of UV rays, the membrane acts as a catalyst and converts nitrogen oxides and sulphur oxides (NOx and SOx), which are contributory factors in the acidification of the environment and the greenhouse effect, into harmless and environmentally-neutral substances. Colour: White. Size: 7.5 x 1 m.

IKO Roofgarden.

Guidance for specification option:

IKO Roofgarden is a high performance cap sheet consisting of a polyester base, coated with APP polymer modified bitumen. The bitumen coating contains a specially formulated anti-root treatment, which prevents the penetration of roots from a range of plants and shrubs. Colour: Grey. Size: 7.5 x 1 m.

IKO ULTRA GOLD 20 (was IKO Goldseal) is a high performance elastomeric built-up roofing system offering the specifier and the client an advanced flat roofing remedy for new build and refurbishment projects. IKO Goldseal membranes are produced using polyester reinforcements, offering exceptional mechanical strength and dimensional stability.

IKO ULTRA LIFE 30 Torch-On Detailing Cap Sheet (was IKO UPXL) is a complementary, high performance membrane that is ideal for forming typical details on IKO ULTRA LIFE 30 Flame-Free and Hybrid Systems, with a granular finish on the top surface and finished on the reverse side with a thermofusible film. The base fabric is a polyester/glass fibre laminate, providing excellent strength, flexibility and dimensional stability. Size: 8 x 1 m.
