Description

Made from timber, with external aluminium cladding, it offers all the benefits of natural wood on the inside and easy maintenance on the outside.


Features and benefits:

  • Can be installed as either inward or outward opening.
  • Available as single or double leaf.
  • Available as triple or double glazed.
  • Flush entrance doors are available in a number of external designs and can incorporate a range of glass apertures.
  • Glazed entrance doors provide maximum daylight and can be divided by glazing bars with the resulting apertures glazed or panelled.
  • Low maintenance.
  • Over 200 colours available.
  • Range of configurations available.
  • U-value as low as 0.81 W/m²K (triple glazed) or 1.27 W/m²K (double glazed).
  • UKCA-marked and resistance tested to wind load, air permeability and watertightness.
  • FSC certified (except flush panel doors).
  • Secured by Design licence holder.
  • Matching windows also available (specified separately).
  • Timber version also available (AURA; specified separately).

Guidance for specification option:

Timber frame internally

  • The timber used in the manufacture is supplied from FSC-certified North European coniferous trees from selected sawmills with sustainable forest management.
  • The proportion of heartwood is at least 60% for exterior rebates and surfaces.
  • In general, knots and small cracks are cut off and the wood finger-jointed.
  • However, minor knots will be permitted.
  • All softwood sections are laminated and their edges rounded.

Aluminium

Guidance for specification option:

Aluminium cladding externally

  • Since the external aluminium cladding functions solely as a climate envelope, it does not form part of the sealing face.
  • The cladding is attached using plastic clips to ensure the necessary draining and ventilation of the wood components.
  • The aluminium alloy must be EN AW-6060 or EN AW-6063 in accordance with EN 755-2.
  • Aluminium glazing beads are polyester powder-coated to a coating thickness of 60-120 microns, standard gloss 30.

Glass

Guidance for specification option:

Two choices of Insulating glass units: 32 mm or 52 mm. Toughened/ laminated glass where required, allowing for 6.8 mm laminate where secured by design is required.

Timber frame:

Water-based diffusion open timber surface treatment. Three layer coating system:

  1. Impregnation.
  2. Priming.
  3. Top coat.


  • The surface treatment system meets EN 113, EN 152 and EN 927.
  • The surface treatment system contains antifungal and anti-rot fungicides.
  • The topcoat meets EN 927-6 in terms of UV-protection. The total thickness on visible surfaces is 100μ +/-20.
  • For covering colours gloss is 20 +/-5.
  • The system meets Danish indoor climate certification.
