Application

The sealant can be gunned or trowelled into the aperture, either in or between the separating elements to a specific depth, utilizing various backing materials (stonewool; minimum of 80 kg/m³, or PE backing rod). For use in low movement joints, and tested in the following locations:

  • Rigid walls of 100–250 mm thickness.
  • Rigid floors of 150 mm minimum thickness.
  • Linear joints up to 50 mm wide.
  • Large service openings up to 490 x 150 mm.
  • Metallic pipes, cables, cable bunches, cable trays and cable ladders.

Description

Water based, acrylic, fire resistant sealant, designed for use in tunnel systems and to reinstate the fire resistance of wall and floor constructions (where apertures are penetrated by multiple services) and linear gap joints (where wall and floor constructions abut).

Features and benefits:

  • Mechanical adhesion, tensile testing and shore hardness to ISO 9046:2005, ISO 8339:2005 and ISO 7619-1:2011.
  • Fire resistance has been tested in flexible walls, rigid walls and floors.
  • Causes no known effects to plastic pipes, plastic cables, sheathing or metallic components.
  • Remains flexible.
  • Halogen free, and resistant to fungi and vermin.
  • CE marked.

Applications:

Product will swell upon heating due to its intumescent properties. Consult manufacturer to view performance data in different applications.

Fire resistance (to EN 1366-3 EI 120, EN 1366-4 EI 240 and BS 476):

300 minutes.

Reaction to fire (to EN13501-1):

Technical characteristics:

  • Air permeability (to EN 1026): 100–600 Pa.
  • Slump: 5 mm after one hour, in 30 mm joints.
  • Shrinkage: 12% (approximately).
  • Cure rate: 3 mm (per day) at 23°C, 50% relative humidity.
  • Specific gravity (to ISO 2811-1:2011): 1.52–1.62 g/cm³.
  • Application temperature: 5–40°C.
  • Tack free: For 30 minutes at 23°C, 50% relative humidity.
  • Water resistance: Good (when fully cured).
  • UV resistance: Good.
  • Joint movement (to EN 1366-4:2006 and A1:2010): Remains flexible.
  • VOC at 105°C (to LEED): 3.6%.
  • Acoustic performance (to EN 10140-2:2010): Up to Rw(C;Ctr): 63(-2;-7) dB.
  • Durability: Class Z1, intended for use at internal conditions with high humidity (85%), in accordance with EOTA technical documents TR024.
