Application

  • Used as reduction of ignitability of softwood and hardwood ≥10 mm thickness and other timber derivatives, e.g. plywood, chipboard, fibre insulation board, hardboard and also on veneering ≥13 mm thickness.
  • Insulates against heat, checks fire, prevents propagation of fire and spread of flame and diminishes flue gas temperatures.

It should not be used in areas of high humidity, heat sources or on surfaces where significant physical impact is likely such as floors, stairs, etc.

Primer

Pyroplast® Wood P Primer.

Testing

Independently fire tested and approved to European classification EN 13501-1 (ref: K-3067/776/14-2).

Application method

Airless spray, brush or roller.

Application temperature

10–40°C.

Guidance for specification option:

Substrate temperature requirements.

  • Should be at least 3°C above the dew point.
  • Material temperature shall be above + 15°C.
  • Relative air humidity shall be below 80%.
  • During application and drying of total Pyroplast® intumescent coating system including Pyroplast® Top WB as well as transportation special protection measures must be taken against weathering.

Manufacturer guidance

If higher temperatures occur, consult manufacturer for further assistance.

Drying time

Pyroplast® Wood P Primer, to touch: 3–8 hours; to recoat: 6–8 hours.
Pyroplast® Wood P, to touch: 6 hours; to recoat: 24 hours (with itself) or 48 hours (with top coat).

At 20°C and 60% relative humidity.
