Proteus Pro-Felt® SA Underlay Sanded - Reinforced Bitumen Membrane

Self-adhesive reinforced elastomeric bitumen membrane to be used as an underlay to Proteus capsheets or as the vapour barrier to the Proteus built-up roof system range (timber or concrete decks).
Application
To be used as a vapour check or under-layer in conjunction with Proteus Pro-Therm Insulation, Proteus Pro-Felt® built-up roof systems and Proteus Pro-Felt® capsheets.
To be installed cold with the overlap heated by either a flame torch or hot air gun depending on the site conditions and substrate type. When used as an underlay, Proteus Pro-Felt® SA Underlay Sanded is also heat activated when the torch applied capsheet is installed.
All lap joints must be completely sealed, with a continuous 5 mm bitumen bead extruding from all laps. Side laps to be a minimum of 80 mm. End laps a minimum of 100 mm.
Description
Self-adhesive reinforced polyester elastometric bitumen membrane to be used as an underlay to Proteus capsheets or as the vapour barrier to the Proteus built-up roof system range when installing on to timber or concrete decks.
The upper surface is finished with silica sand and the underside is a protective removable film. A bond is achieved by removing the protective release film to the underside of the membrane adhering it onto a suitable deck or insulation board preprimed with Pro-Prime® SA.

Proteus Pro-Felt® SA Underlay Sanded should be installed in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and all relevant national standards and codes of practice, including BS 8217: 2005 – the code of practice for reinforced bitumen membranes for roofing.
