• Secured from outer layer with minimum 38 mm high thread drywall screws at maximum 200 mm centres.

• All boards abutting surrounding structure should be sealed using FSi Promat Pyrocoustic® Fire Resistant Sealant.
• All penetrations should use supporting constructions detailed in Promat literature unless superseded by specific test information. For combined, warrantied performance specify FSi fire-stopping products.

Joist protection strips:

• 2 x 100 mm wide strips of 12 mm Promat Supalux to be installed both sides of all structural members flush to the existing ceiling lining with min. 4.2 x 65 mm long steel deep thread wood screws at maximum 300 mm centres

Metal Angle:

• 23 x 30 x 0.7 mm (minimum) steel angle bedded onto FSi Promat Pyrocoustic® Fire Resistant Sealant and fixed to all structural members with min. 3.5 x 50 mm wood screws at maximum 300 mm centres

Horizontal capping boards:

• 12 mm thick Promat SUPALUX® cut to width between joists and bedded onto FSi Promat Pyrocoustic® Fire Resistant Sealant resting on the metal angle, no fixings required. 

Guidance for specification option:

Structural noggins:

• As required for structural purposes, and maximum 2500 mm c/c to ensure no joints occur in horizontal Supalux layer.

Perimeter noggins:

• Full depth noggins required.

Guidance for specification option:

• Density: 60 kg/m³ (minimum).
• Thickness: 50 mm (minimum).
