Description

PROMATECT®-XS is an A1 non-combustible board in accordance with BS EN 13501-1 for use with structural steelwork fire protection, and can be installed before the building is watertight. It can also be used for mezzanine floor systems to provide fire resistance of up to 60 minutes. The boards can be installed in unheated spaces without deteriorating. PROMATECT®-XS has a smooth surface and is off-white in appearance, it can be left undecorated or easily finished with paint. PROMATECT®-XS is used to provide fire protection to a wide range of steel profiles, with coverage for limiting steel temperatures ranging from 300°C to 700°C.

Promat PROMATECT®-XS can be left exposed for up to 6 months during the construction phase, subject to the following qualifications: the boards must not be left in standing or pooling water or be subjected to any water run-off from roof or slab structures above (protection can be provided by temporary waterproofing measures) and all cut edges should be sealed using FSi Promat Pyrolastic® Silicone, a fire resistant silicone, prior to installation to help prevent any long-term moisture ingress. This is particularly important when considering structural protection to perimeter/ edge beams.

Warranty description	- Manufacturer guidance Etex Building Performance Limited warrants that the Promatect-XS steelwork encasement system including the associated details for maintaining compartmentation at head of beam, the interface details including direct fix for in-line Siniat partitions, Z-bar fix for off-set Siniat partitions and column/ Siniat partition abutments (flange side and web side), when installed in accordance as detailed in the Project Pack specification document including associated CAD drawings and any other specific technical recommendations made in relation to this project, solely using the proprietary products and components as supplied by Etex Building Performance Limited for this system, will meet the specified period of fire resistance.

The end staples are located nominally 50 mm from the corner of the board. 20 mm Promat PROMATECT®-XS: Fixing to metal angle: minimum M3.5 x 32 mm self tapping screws at maximum 300 mm centres.
