Application

Used as backfill in the installation of underground electricity cables.

Description

Cement-bound sand stabilised backfill materials as defined in ENA TS 97-1 for underground electricity cable installations.

Available in two variants:

  • PowerSand CBS: backfill material designed for underground high-voltage cable installations. It offers excellent thermal conductivity, compacts easily around cables, and helps dissipate heat to reduce electrical resistance.
  • PowerSand CBS Extra: high-performance, non-traditional stabilised backfill designed for power cable installations. It offers lower thermal resistivity than traditional CBS and contributes to a reduced carbon footprint.

Features and benefits:

  • Keeps cables cool due to low thermal resistance.
  • Consistent for ease of use and ultimate performance.
  • UKAS test certificates available if requested.
  • Meets or exceeds the requirements of ENA TS 97-1.
