Application

Suitable for numerous applications, including the damp proofing of walls and slabs and the waterproofing of concrete structures.

Description

Three-component, fibre-reinforced cement/ epoxy resin that, when mixed with the addition of up to 40% water, produces a workable mortar suitable for surface repair and surface smoothing.

Surface preparation is required, as is protection after application - consult manufacturer for details.

Coatings, paints and finishes can be applied up to 72 hours after the final coat of Newton 110 WAtstop has been applied.

  • Once WATstop is dry it can be coated with plasters, skim coats, resins, glues, coatings, tiles or paints, because it also acts as an adhesion coadjutant.
  • Suitable substrates include concrete, structural masonry, ceramic, steel, screed, ferrous metal and polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
  • Guaranteed to resist weathering for up to ten years.
  • Can be applied by trowel in just one coat if applied in original state. If up to 40% water is added, can be applied by roller or brush in two coats (depending on the coverage).


Curing:

  • Ready for next coat: At 5°C: After 10 hours; at 10°C: After 8 hours; at 15°C: After 5 hours; at 20°C: After 5 hours; at 25°C: After 5 hours.
  • To be kept rain-free: At 5°C: For 48 hours; at 10°C: For 36 hours; at 15°C: For 24 hours; at 20°C: For 24 hours; at 25°C: For 24 hours.
  • Ready for temporary foot traffic/ protection boards: At 5°C: After 48 hours; at 10°C: After 36 hours; at 15°C: After 24 hours; at 20°C: After 24 hours; at 25°C: After 24 hours.
  • Ready for flood/ hosepipe test: At 5°C: After 7 days; at 10°C: After 3 days; at 15°C: After 2 days; at 20°C: After 2 days; at 25°C: After 2 days.
  • Fully cured: At 5°C: After 7 days; at 10°C: After 3 days; at 15°C: After 2 days; at 20°C: After 2 days; at 25°C: After 2 days.
