MEDERA – Timber Solar Shading System

MEDERA timber solar shading systems are bespoke architectural solutions designed to provide effective solar control while enhancing the visual character of building façades.

The system combines the natural aesthetic of timber with engineered support structures to deliver functional shading performance alongside a high-quality architectural finish. Suitable for a wide range of façade applications, MEDERA systems can be configured to respond to orientation, solar gain and project-specific design requirements.

A wide range of timber species is available, all sustainably sourced and PEFC certified. Blade profiles can be manufactured in a variety of geometries, including rectangular, square, trapezoidal, circular and elliptical forms, allowing the system to be tailored to the architectural intent of each project.

Profiles can be produced from solid timber sections or laminated engineered timber for larger spans and enhanced stability. Each system is developed following technical review to ensure suitability in terms of performance, durability and constructability.

Both fixed and operable configurations are available, enabling control of solar gain, daylight and façade expression.

MEDERA systems are designed and manufactured on a project-specific basis, allowing integration with bespoke support structures and façade interfaces.
