Application

  • Light-duty wall ties (type 4) are suitable for use in domestic dwellings. Suitable for buildings with a maximum height of 10 m and cavity widths of 50–150 mm.
  • General-purpose wall ties (type 2) are suitable for use in small commercial buildings and domestic dwellings. Suitable for buildings with a maximum height of 15 m and cavity widths of 50–125 and 125–150 mm.
  • Heavy-duty wall ties (type 1) are suitable for most buildings in the UK of any height, with cavities up to 150 mm.

Description

For securing two leaves of a cavity wall to each other, allowing them to act as one structurally.


Features and benefits:

  • Will adequately resist thermal transmittance.
  • Constant drip feature to prevent moisture travelling across the cavity.
  • Available with a dedicated clip to secure insulation (usually in sheet form) within the cavity.
  • Tested as Type B (sound).
  • Tested Types 4, 2, & 1 to BS EN 845-1.
  • BBA certified 17/5462.

Basalt fibre composite.

  • High specific tensile strength, 4–6 times higher than stainless steel.
  • Excellent corrosion resistance (never rusts).
  • Low thermal conductivity of 0.65 W/m·K, which is 15–20 times lower than stainless steel.
  • High compressive strength compared to conventional FRP materials.
  • Non-magnetic and electrically non-conductive.
