Traditional hand-split (riven) hardwood chestnut and sawn oak plastering laths.
For use on ceilings and internal and external timber framing.
Traditional hand-split (riven) oak or chestnut laths for use on ceilings and internal and external timber framing.
Laths are fixed with a 6-8 mm gap between laths so that SPH8 fibre reinforced pricking-up coat plaster can be pushed through and good strong reinforced nibs formed above or behind the laths.
Laths are fixed ‘block-staggered’ every 600–750 mm, butted (not overlapped) and fixed with non-ferrous nails or screws. Stainless steel ring-shank nails 30 x 2 mm are recommended. Stainless steel screws are preferred for lath repairs or replacement to delicate old ceilings.
