Description

Secret-fix, steel-faced, polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulated Architectural Wall Panel (AWP) system in a louvre profile.


Features and benefits:

  • Panels are immune to attack from mould, fungi, mildew and vermin.
  • No urea-formaldehyde is used in the construction.
  • Panels are not deleterious.
  • An air leakage rate of 3 m³/hr/m² at 50 Pa or less can be achieved when the full building envelope is constructed using Kingspan panels.
  • Horizontally-laid panels can be installed in a tiered or coursed arrangement.
  • Panels can be curved on the length or width, corners can be cranked or mitred depending on profile; consult manufacturer for details.
  • Also available with QuadCore™ insulation (specified separately).


Approvals:

  • CE marked to BS EN 14509: 2013

- Fire:

  • LPS 1181: 2014: Part 1: Issue 1.2, series of fire growth tests for LPCB approval and is certified to LPS 1181 Grade EXT-B, and can achieve periods of fire resistance (EXT-A), for further information contact manufacturer's technical services department.
  • FM approval to FMRC 4880 & 4881 Class 1 fire classification, unlimited height (1000 mm cover width panels only).
  • Reaction to fire classification according to BS EN 13501–1:2007+A1:2009: B-s1,d0.

Side rails and platforms supports:

  • Framed structure to be specified separately to include the following as required:
  • Multibeam eaves beams.
  • Multibeam side rails.
  • Multichannel side rails.
  • Multichannel trimmers.
  • Multichannel structural partitions.


Warranties:

Kingspan Panel Protection Warranty covering the structural and thermal performance for a period of up to 25 years and Kingspan Coating Warranty for a period of up to 40 years (subject to project specific information).

Panel fasteners

Primary fasteners:

- Horizontally-laid panels:

  • Type: High threaded screws with bonded washers; Stainless steel or anti-corrosion coated carbon steel.
  • Number/ location: Minimum bearing face for intermediate support is 50 mm. Minimum requirements are one fastener through the male joint at each panel end into the vertical rail location, and two at each intermediate support position. Additional fasteners may be required depending on wind loading.

- Vertically-laid panels:


  • Type: High threaded screws with bonded washers; Stainless steel or anti-corrosion coated carbon steel, and countersunk main fasteners (corner fixing only).
  • Number/ location: Minimum requirements are one fastener through the male joint at the top and bottom of each panel, and two at each intermediate support position. Additional fasteners may be required depending on wind loading. Corner positions require minimum two countersunk fasteners into the female panel joint at each horizontal rail location (to be covered by corner flashing).


Secondary fasteners:

- Vertically-laid panels:

  • Type: Low-profile stitching screws (external corner flashing only).
  • Number/ location: To be placed at 450 mm centres (maximum).

Side laps sealing

Factory-applied weather seals.

Apply non-setting gun-grade butyl sealant, butyl tape sealant and silicone sealant as manufacturer's installation instructions.


Vertically-laid panels only:

VJ2 EPDM bubble gasket, applied to the vertical steel member, is required at every vertical panel joint detail to provide an air seal.

End laps sealing

Factory-applied weather seals.

Apply non-setting gun-grade butyl sealant, butyl tape sealant and silicone sealant as manufacturer's installation instructions.

Continuity thermal insulation

Kingspan LPCB or FM Approved PIR board insulation to be installed in certain details to ensure thermal continuity.

Fill any gaps with fire-rated canister insulation.
