A Sodium Bentonite based waterbar for sealing construction joints.
Application
- Developed for the sealing of construction joints in reinforced concrete Basement and Below Ground structures.
- As a part of a Type B waterproofing system according to BS 8102 2022, can be specified with Koster BDM watertight concrete additive.
- To ensure a continuous and effective water bar joints, the ends of the Koster Quellband should be spliced together of but jointed with an angled cut of both faces.
- A minimum concrete cover of 80 mm is required either side of the waterbar.
- Koster Quellband can be applied both vertically and horizontally.
- Koster Quellband is advised to be mechanically fastened to the concrete rather than adhered using a mastic, thus ensuring a radial expansion.
- All construction joints should be properly prepared prior to waterbar placement.
- Waterbar to be protected from pooling/ponding water prior to concrete casting.
Description
Koster Quellband is a sodium bentonite based water swellable joint tape. It has an alkalinity activated surface coating which stops premature swelling of the tape on the building site.
