Intensive Lightweight Washed Sand Subsoil

A light yellowish brown, dry, friable, non-calcareous sand with a single grain structure, free from stones, unusual odours, deleterious materials, roots, or rhizomes of pernicious weeds.

Laboratory analysis showed the sample to be alkaline, non-saline, and non-calcareous, with low organic matter content and a narrow particle size distribution, predominated by medium sand. The sand exhibited high permeability and sufficient total porosity.

The horticultural and geotechnical properties of the sand were considered suitable for use as a structural subsoil for tree planting in hard landscape situations.
