HS Grating Fencing

Description

HS steel grating fences offer excellent resistance to intrusion and vandalism by incorporating features specifically designed for higher security applications.

There are two alternative types of HS fencing: Roma-4HS with a heavy-duty 30 x 4 mm flat bar or Palermo-HS with a small 43 x 44 mm aperture.

The close-fix detail between panel and post provides the strongest possible connection; the outside flat bars of the panel are bolted directly to the web of the IPE post.

For optimum security the fencing can be supplied with optional accessories such as cranked tops or anti-intruder spikes.

Single leaf, double leaf, pivot, cantilevered or sliding gates are made to match.

Grating fences are supplied in accordance with BS 1722-14.

Panels and posts can be supplied galvanized only or galvanized and powder coated to any RAL colour.

Fixing:

The two outside flat bars of the grating construction that forms the panel are each three times holed for an M10 x 25 stainless steel dome headed bolt with snap-off security nut. This bolt connects two panels together through the web of the IPE post.

Orientation:

Fences are designed with the round bars set to the inside of the enclosed area.

Installation:

  • Fastenings: Panels fixed to posts with M10 x 25 mm stainless steel bolts with domed heads and snap-off security nuts, all stainless steel grade A2.
  • End Panels can be cut to size on site to required or cut to size on site and finish coating made good.
  • Groundwork: Refer to BS 1722 giving consideration to existing ground conditions. Posts to be set in holes 300 to 400 mm square in plan and between 550 and 700 mm in depth, depending on fence height. Holes should be completely filled to a minimum of 50 mm below ground level with concrete mix (minimum strength of C20).
  • Height from ground: Panels to sit 100 mm (maximum) off ground.
  • Changes in level: Fence panels stepped to 150 mm (maximum) on standard length post. Post centres to be reduced for steeper gradients (between 1:20 and 1:7).
