Hempadur 15553

A two-component epoxy paint. It cures to a flexible, well adhering coating with good abrasion and impact resistance.

Features and benefits:

• Cures to a strong and highly corrosion-resistant coating.
• Well suited as a (blast) primer in epoxy systems.
• Approved as a low flame spread material when used as part of a predefined paint system.
• Maximum, dry exposure only: 140°C/284°F
• The greyish yellow 21780 and the grey 11320 shades contains zinc phosphate.
• Hempadur 15553 is recommended as a primer for systems on hot dipped galvanized steel, aluminium, mild steel and stainless steel surfaces in moderately to severely corrosive environments.  

Certificates/Approvals:

EC-type examined as a low flame spread material when used as part of a predefined paint system. Please refer to “Declaration of Conformity” on hempel.com for further details. Complies with the European Fire Standard EN 13501-1, fire reaction class: B-s1, d0.

Product compatibility:

• Previous coat: None.
• Subsequent coat: According to Hempel’s Specification. Recommended products are Hempadur, Hempathane, Hempatex.

Application method:

• Airless spray.
• Brush.

Drying time:

Determined for dry film thickness 50 µm (2.0 mils) at standard conditions. Indicative values at 20ºC; Touch dry: 18 minutes, Hard dry: 90 minutes.
