Description

The HD1053 acoustic insulation system offers a tried and tested solution for single metal stud walls used to create non load-bearing lightweight partitions.

Specifically designed to enhance the sound insulation in lightweight 92mm/94mm single metal stud and track systems, the system has been used in has applications including residential, commercial and industrial.

HD1053 is suitable for new build, conversion and refurbishment developments, offering excellent acoustic performance levels that exceed the sound reduction requirements of the Building Regulations covering all four UK nations.

As a fully tested system, it can be specified with total confidence to deliver the stated sound insulating performance, providing no individual products are substituted or omitted and the system is installed in line with Hush Acoustics' guidance.

Features and benefits:

  • Can be used in new build, conversion and refurbishment developments.
  • Building Regulations Approved Document E (England & Wales), Technical Handbook Section 5 (Scotland) and Technical Handbook G (Northern Ireland) compliant.
  • A tried and tested method of creating a separating lightweight stud wall.
  • Excellent acoustic performance levels for a single stud wall construction due to the performance of the Hush Deep Resilient Bar.

How the HD1053 system is formed:

  • A single frame of 92mm/94mm metal stud and track is constructed.
  • Isolate the stud and track from the floor and ceiling structure using Hush Heavy Duty Isolation Tape.
  • Insulate within the stud using Hush-Slab 100 Sound Absorber - these slabs must be installed tightly within the stud frame.
  • Install Hush Bar Deep Resilient Bars to one side of the stud frame.
  • Face both sides of the wall with two layers of 15mm Soundbloc plasterboards.
  • Ensure the plasterboard fixings attaching the Soundbloc to the Hush Deep Resilient Bars do not penetrate through to the stud work.
  • Seal the perimeters of the plasterboards using Hush Acoustic Sealant.
